Las Posadas Holiday Kitchen Serves Hits, Misses & a Mole Mystery at Epcot 2025
Explore our 2025 Las Posadas Holiday Kitchen review at Epcot Festival of the Holidays, featuring Tamal de Pollo con Mole and Tostada de Carne.

The 2025 Epcot Festival of the Holidays is entirely underway, and the Mexico Pavilion’s Las Posadas Holiday Kitchen is showcasing two new savory dishes that range from impressive presentation to mild identity crises. The Epcot International Festival of the Holidays runs through December 30. Let’s dig into the stars: the savory newcomers.

Tostada de Carne – $8.00

AKA: The Tostada That Forgot to Turn Its Flavor On
The description promises a fiesta: braised beef tips cooked Mexican-style, black beans, crispy onions, queso fresco, all on a fried corn tortilla. The reality? More like a polite handshake.

Let’s give credit where it’s due: the tostada shell is excellent. Great crunch, firm structure, and the kind of satisfying snap that makes you go, “Okay, we’re onto something.” Still, once you get past the architecture, the flavor tapers off fast. The beef is surprisingly bland. The black beans try their best, but the queso fresco shows up so lightly that we started wondering if Epcot invented an invisible dairy program.

Verdict: If you want bold flavors, look elsewhere. If you want crunch? This is your guy.
Tamal de Pollo con Mole – $9.00

AKA: The Tamal That Looked Like a Festival Superstar
Now this dish? This one looks like it’s headlining the Festival of the Holidays. The presentation is genuinely impressive: shredded chicken inside corn masa, topped with mole negro, crema Mexicana, queso fresco, slivered almonds, and sesame seeds. It’s basically wearing its holiday finest.
While the $9 price gave us pause, creativity and ingredients justify it…mostly. Taste-wise, it’s good, though we wanted a more robust punch. The mole negro pairs well with the masa, but several guests around us said, “Wait… is this what mole is supposed to taste like?” (Answer: yes, mole can be confusing if you’re expecting Tex-Mex gravy.)

The chicken portion varies plate to plate, which can make your meal feel like a bit of a lottery. Get a tamal with plenty of chicken? Fantastic. Get one that’s masa-heavy? Prepare for a carb marathon. The masa is plentiful—some might say very plentiful. Even with these quirks, this is the clear savory standout at Las Posadas Holiday Kitchen and a strong contender for “Best Epcot Festival Food” lists this season.

Las Posadas Holiday Kitchen

Las Posadas Holiday Kitchen continues to be one of the most intriguing stops at Epcot festivals, blending traditional flavors with festive flair—even if the execution occasionally feels like it missed its cue.
- Tostada de Carne: A+ crunch, C flavor.
- Tamal de Pollo con Mole: Beautiful, ambitious, and delicious… when the chicken shows up.
If you’re heading around World Showcase this season, Las Posadas remains a must-try—expect a little unpredictability along the way. For more theme park dining reviews, visit MSM News every weekday at noon Eastern Time.
