“Moto Motion: Freestyle Showdown” brings BMX, motocross, and aerial stunts to Busch Gardens Tampa Bay for a limited time during Summer Nights.

As a part of Busch Gardens Tampa Bay’s Summer Nights, the Stanleyville Theatre houses the “Moto Motion: Freestyle Showdown” show. The theme park refers to this show as a “High-energy indoor BMX and Motocross stunt spectacular.” It combines extreme riders and aerial daredevils.

The “Moto Motion: Freestyle Showdown” show happens every day except Wednesdays during Summer Nights. According to the Busch Gardens Tampa Bay website, the last day of the show will be August 14. We suspect that soon after that date, the Stanleyville Theatre will undergo a creepy transformation in preparation for Howl-O-Scream, which starts on September 5.

During a recent media event, we received a brief preview of this new show. It showed promise, but how will the show do in a complete performance? We went to find out. The expected daily showtimes are 3:00 p.m., 5:00 p.m., and 7:00 p.m. Guests are advised to check the Busch Gardens Tampa Bay mobile app or website for the most up-to-date showtimes.
Moto Motion: Freestyle Showdown – Opening Day

On the opening day of the show, a pass member-only queue was in place. We do not know if this will continue. We attended the 3:00 p.m. show on May 29.

About ten to fifteen minutes before the show starts, the audio provides clues about the storyline of the “Moto Mania” show. We learn that a “radio station” is broadcasting a special Motocross freestyle competition. Two different motocross freestyle teams are competing. When the radio-style announceer audio is not playing, high-energy music plays to set the tone for this show.

The radio narrative pays off with a storyline to start the show. Nevertheless, it does not add much, as this show is primarily about the spectacle. The teams compete in competitions such as aerialists, or bikers and dancer collaborations.

The performances during “Moto Mania” deserve praise. The dance numbers work well within the show. The aerialist’s stunts shine during the show. However, they do not get as much stage time as the other aspects of the show. The motorbikers performed well, as would be expected with a show of this type. However, guests should not expect anything too amazing since the Stanleyville Theatre stage is small, which limits the space the bikes can perform in.
Busch Gardens Tampa Bay Indoor Show

The “Moto Motion: Freestyle Showdown” delivers high energy and impressive stunts. This makes a solid addition to the show lineup for Summer Nights at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. Nevertheless, the show has weaknesses. Despite those, having a chance to enjoy a 25-minute indoor air-conditioned show with stunts sounds like an excellent theme park option. Just like the new “Disney Villains: Unhappily Ever After” show at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, any indoor show at a Florida theme park should be celebrated.

The show ends with thanks to the audience. This is followed by a promotion of merchandise and the chance to meet some of the performers,

Fans of dancing, aerialists, and motorbikes should make this show a priority. Those looking to cool off during their day at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay will be entertained as well during “Moto Motion: Freestyle Showdown.” This show delivers what it advertised.
