The Art Deco-inspired décor, complete with movie posters and film reels, sets the stage for a dining experience that pays homage to the golden age of cinema. One of the highlights of dining at Hollywood & Vine is the opportunity to meet and interact with Disney characters. The well-paced character interactions allow guests ample time for photos and autographs. The themed costumes during Minnie’s Seasonal Dine add an extra layer of excitement, making each visit unique.

Guests have noted that the restaurant’s layout allows for more personal interactions with the characters, as the space is designed to facilitate easy movement for both guests and characters.

Guest Reviews

Hollywood & Vine Breakfast

Feedback from guests highlights the enjoyable character experiences and the variety of food options. While some guests feel the food is standard for a buffet, the overall experience, especially for families with children, is considered worthwhile.

Our Experience at Hollywood & Vine Breakfast

On this occasion, we were dining with Jon Bowden of Love Our Life. He appeared on a Journey Into Imagination episode of the Main Street Magic Podcast. We visited Disney’s Hollywood Studios to check out the new shows and entertainment for the summer season. Since Hollywood & Vine was part of the V.I.PASSHOLDER Summer Days offering a 40% discount, we decided to try it.

Our previous experiences at Hollywood & Vine have been less than stellar. However, we have not visited for breakfast in a while. Thus, we arrived with low expectations.

Things did not start off smoothly. We arrived about 15 minutes early for our 10:00 a.m. weekday breakfast advanced dining reservation.  The mobile check-in process did not work through the My Disney Experience app. The cast member understood and acted like it had happened all morning. They checked us in. We waited about ten minutes to be seated.

The cast members explained the process wonderfully. Our server did a great job with our meal. They even kept the Coke Zero Sugar beverage full, which can be a challenge based on some members of our group.

Disney Characters

The Disney Jr. characters and Goofy came around to our table a few times. They each played their part very well. Fans of these characters will enjoy the interaction. Diners will receive an autograph card during their meal.

Buffet

The buffet offers a variety of standard breakfast items, along with a few unexpected additions. In fact, on the day we visited, the buffet offered a chef’s special. The buffet items will vary slightly from day to day.

Hollywood & Vine Breajfast

Most of the breakfast buffet items fit a typical United States of America breakfast with eggs, oatmeal, cereal, pastries, bacon, and sausage.

The Hollywood & Vine breakfast buffet has two sides with identical items served. We were seated on the left side, so we went to that section. On the day of our visit, we rarely had to wait for others, so we could select our desired food from the buffet.

Breakfast Items

Most of the typical breakfast items tasted fine. However, they did not reach the quality expected for a $49 character breakfast. The bacon, eggs, sausage, and similar items did not alter our low expectations about this Walt Disney World character buffet. Additionally, we suggest skipping the pastries and biscuits & gravy. The cheesy potato casserole typically served at Walt Disney World buffets was weaker here than at other property options.

Hollywood & Vine Breakfast

Yes, there are Mickey Waffles here. Sadly, even these Mickey-shaped creations provided lower flavor enjoyment than at Walt Disney World quick service restaurants.

Hollywood & Vine Breakfast

Regarding the more specialized breakfast items, we found some far better than others. During our visit, we found the Oatmeal Bake in the kids’ section of the buffet to be the best item at the Hollywood & Vine breakfast.

Hollywood & Vine Breakfast

Other more unique items at the Hollywood & Vine breakfast tasted average at best. For example, the Eggs Benedict lacked a robust flavor. The Spicy Chicken & Doughnuts offered a level of spice less than that of normal at a Disney theme park. Still, what spice there is lingers between bites. We found the chicken and donuts to be disappointing together.

Hollywood & Vine Breakfast Buffet Unique Items

Hollywood & Vine Breakfast

The Bananas Foster French Toast was merely some pieces of French toast with some average sauce to add versus syrup. The bread pudding fails to offer any positives for a Walt Disney World buffet.

Hollywood & Vine Breakfast

The remaining two unique items, Salmon and Bagel Casserole, and Plant-based Frittata with Tomato Jam, intrigued us. We found that the salmon dish offers a standard buffet flavor, but its aroma may be off-putting to some guests. The plant-based frittata tasted blander than expected, and we eat plenty of vegan items. Nevertheless, the jam on top offered some redeeming value.

As you can see, the Hollywood & Vine breakfast buffet has not improved since our previous visits. We have constantly rated this as one of the weakest Walt Disney World character meals. One member of our group has not eaten here before. They also found it disappointing, given the numerous excellent breakfast options available at Walt Disney World.

Final Thoughts About Hollywood & Vine Breakfast

    Hollywood & Vine Breakfast

Hollywood & Vine breakfast offers a memorable dining experience that combines the joy of meeting Disney characters with a diverse buffet selection. The seasonal themes and interactive atmosphere make it a standout choice for families and Disney fans seeking a unique meal within Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

While the breakfast food is fine, better Walt Disney World character breakfast buffet options exist, such as Tusker House at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This breakfast works fine for families with younger children. However, this might not be the best choice for those with older kids.
