We went to Aquatica Orlando to try Hawaiian Crumble Dippin’ Dots. What did we think of this tropical summer treat with pineapple, coconut, and cake crumbles?

Last month, a special Dippin’ Dots flavor was introduced, Hawaiian Crumble. We first learned of it being a part of the “Aloha to Summer” event at Aquatica Orlando. It also played a role in promoting the “Lilo and Stitch” movie. We decided to try this new treat during a recent visit to Aquatica Orlando. The official menu description for this sweet treat reads, “This island inspired treat is a refreshing combo of pineapple ice, creamy coconut ice-cream, and delicious cake crumbles.”

Hawaiian Crumble Dippin’ Dots

Hawaiian Crumble Dippin’ Dots are a tropical twist on the “original” beaded ice cream, combining island-inspired flavors with the signature flash-frozen texture. This limited-edition or specialty flavor combines the refreshing taste of pineapple, creamy coconut, and hints of vanilla ice cream, all packed into tiny, colorful spheres. What sets the Hawaiian Crumble variety apart is the inclusion of crumbly bits that resemble a buttery streusel or shortbread topping, offering a satisfying contrast in texture, crunchy and sweet alongside cold and creamy.

Others told us to expect the essence of a Hawaiian dessert, reminiscent of pineapple upside-down cake or a tropical cobbler. Our colleagues state this would make a favorite for summer festivals, beach boardwalks, and theme parks. However, during our taste test when visiting Aquatica Orlando, we tasted something similar to a non-alcoholic pina colada. Each spoonful delivered a refreshing burst of tropical fruitiness. We failed to get much of the cookie-like taste. Like all Dippin’ Dots, Hawaiian Crumble uses cryogenic technology that flash-freezes the ingredients into tiny beads, preserving flavor while offering a unique, melt-in-your-mouth sensation.

Our Experience

Hawaiian Crumble Dippin’ Dots

We enjoyed the Hawaiian Crumble Dippin’ Dots. A regular size costs $9.99, with a large (that contains far more) cots two dollars more. Aquatica Orlando guests should know that a 5% surcharge will be applied, and tax is not included in the price shown. Despite surcharges and a higher price than expected, this flavor provided an excellent refreshing treat that most guests will enjoy.

Perfect for those seeking a playful, vacation-inspired treat, Hawaiian Crumble Dippin’ Dots appeal to kids and adults looking for something different from the usual chocolate or vanilla. This variety captures the spirit of aloha (or a pina colada) in every bite, a frozen escape to the islands, one dot at a time.
