Croissant Moon Mardi Gras treats are back for festive options at Universal Islands of Adventure during the 2026 Mardi Gras celebration, through April 4.

As Universal Orlando Resort’s Mardi Gras: International Flavors of Carnaval returns for 2026, running daily through April 4, guests will find more than just parades, concerts, and beads splashing through the streets of Universal Studios Florida. The celebration also spills into the parks’ quick-service eateries, including Croissant Moon Bakery in Universal Islands of Adventure, which is bringing back an impressive lineup of limited-time seasonal sweets and baked treats for the event.

Croissant Moon Bakery, located in the Port of Entry area near Confisco Grille, has long been a go-to spot for both breakfast and sweet treats thanks to its fresh pastry case, artisan croissants, and creative seasonal offerings. During Mardi Gras, the display case adds a festive air, with colorful, event-themed desserts inspired by the flavors and traditions of New Orleans.
Croissant Moon Mardi Gras Treats

We found four Croissant Moon Mardi Gras treats to choose from on the opening day of the Universal event. Those include:
- Masquerade Bar
- Cookie Butter Custard
- King Cake
- French Quarter Cream Horn

For our morning breakfast…no judgment, we were working…we got the King Cake and French Quarter Cream Horn. Both options cost $7.49 each. Universal Orlando annual pass discounts do apply. Additionally, we used a Universal Orlando Resort Food and Beverage Card we bought last year to pay for this.
King Cake

Let us start with the King Cake. We suspect this will be the same as the one found at the New Orleans booth at Universal Studios Florida during the Mardi Gras event. However, Universal Studios Florida has not opened yet so we cannot confirm that yet.
This cake has the baby on top with a thick vanilla icing and decorative sprinkles. We found that this fulfilled the duties of a King Cake. It looked the part. The icing and sprinkles worked well. The flavors may not blow anyone away. However, they represent a King Cake well with a balance of cinnamon and robust icing.

Our King Cake’s density was our primary concern. This Croissant Moon Mardi Gras treat was tougher to cut than previous versions. Still, it was not outside acceptable parameters for this type of treat. Additionally, the price feels a bit high. Still, with the discount card saving us 20% and our 15% annual pass discount, the value is there, for sure!
Croissant Moon Mardi Gras: French Quarter Cream Horn

Our group generally does not like cream horns. However, we found this to be a good version. This Croissant Moon Mardi Gras version did impress us, though. The cream and pastry shell were above average. The cream and Mardi Gras sprinkles enhance this sweet treat. Also, we cut it fairly easily, so it is shareable. For those looking to sample a cream horn with Mardi Gras style, this works perfectly with the cream and the purple icing drizzle.

Comparison to Other Seasonal Quick-Service Bakery Cases
Croissant Moon Bakery isn’t alone in offering seasonal eats. Other quick-service spots with bakery cases at Universal Orlando Resort include Today Cafe and San Francisco Pastry Co. at Universal Studios Florida. During events like Halloween Horror Nights or the holidays, these locations also showcase limited-time desserts.
If you’re attending Universal Orlando Resort during Mardi Gras: International Flavors of Carnaval, whether you’re here for the parade, the music, or the food booths, make a beeline for Croissant Moon Bakery’s festive display case. These seasonal treats blend bakery craftsmanship with celebratory flair, delivering flavors that feel both familiar and special. For fans of sweet treats and theme park dining alike, the Mardi Gras lineup at Croissant Moon Bakery is a must-try stop on your Universal foodie checklist this season.
