Review: Cream of Brie Cheese Galette at Epcot’s Crêpes À Emporter

We tried the Cream of Brie Galette at the Epcot Crêpes À Emporter quick service window and share an honest verdict on taste, mess, and seating. Is the Cream of Brie Galette at Crêpes À Emporter worth the walk-up window hassle?

Epcot’s France Pavilion has quietly become a two-restaurant operation ever since Crêpes À Emporter by La Crêperie de Paris opened as the fast-casual sibling to the sit-down La Crêperie de Paris next door. We’ve already given the quick-service window a full savory-and-sweet snacks review, but one item deserved a closer look: the Cream of Brie Cheese Galette ($12.95). We picked one up on a recent trip through World Showcase.
What’s in the Cream of Brie Cheese Galette

Crêpes À Emporter splits its menu into sweet crêpes and savory galettes. The Cream of Brie Cheese Galette sits on the savory side of that ledger. A galette isn’t just a crêpe with a different filling. It’s made from buckwheat flour rather than the standard wheat batter, which gives it a heartier, slightly nutty base sturdy enough to hold a warm, melted cheese filling without falling apart in your hands (at least in theory, more on that in a moment). At $12.95, it costs the same as the Béchamel, Cheese & Ham Galette, while still landing above the Ratatouille Galette ($11.25). If those prices look high to Epcot dining veterans, you are right. Also, Crêpes À Emporter by La Crêperie de Paris has recently seen a price hike of about a dollar for each crêpe or galette.
Now back to the Cream of Brie Cheese Galette…
Cream of Brie Galette at Epcot: Savory and Safe

The buckwheat factor is the first thing you notice. It’s not a dramatic flavor, but it’s noticeably earthier and more substantial than a dessert crêpe wrapper. It does its job of containing the brie without turning soggy right away. As for the cheese itself, this is a good but safe galette. The brie is creamy and mild rather than more pungent. So, it plays things closer to a grilled cheese than an adventurous French cheese course. Nothing about it surprised us, and nothing about it disappointed us either. It’s a competent, comforting bite; don’t expect a bold cheese course.
The one real caution is temperature. Brie is a soft, high-fat cheese, and once it’s warmed through inside a galette, it wants to keep moving. On a hot Florida afternoon, that means a genuine risk of a creamy mess working its way past the edges of the galette and onto your hands (or your shirt) before you’ve finished it. Budget a few extra napkins.
The Real Challenge: Eating It at a Walk-Up Window

Here’s the part that matters just as much as the food. Crêpes À Emporter is a true quick-service kiosk, and that comes with a few practical headaches we’ve flagged before at this same location. There are no trays here, so you’re carrying the galette bare, on its plate. Seating is also very limited around the walk-up window, and what is there fills up fast with guests waiting for Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure right next door.
Combine no trays, limited seating, and a melty filling of the Cream of Brie Galette doesn’t love the Florida sun, and you get a galette that’s genuinely hard to eat gracefully on the go. We’d recommend grabbing a plastic fork and knife from the condiment station if they offer them, or at minimum finding a spot to sit rather than trying to walk and eat at the same time. This isn’t a snack you casually stroll with.
How It Stacks Up

If you’d rather skip the Epcot standing-room logistics entirely, the table-service La Crêperie de Paris next door serves its own galettes with actual seating and service. Of course, it comes with its own trade-offs worth reading about first. Also, if buckwheat and butter are more your thing than brie, we’ve also put the crêpe format up against the Bièraubeurre Crêpe at Epic Universe, a very different (and very Butterbeer-flavored) take on the same basic idea over at Universal.
Should You Order the Cream of Brie Cheese Galette?

Yes, with a plan. This Epcot galette itself is a solid, safe savory snack: buckwheat crust, mild melted brie, nothing offensive and nothing revelatory. If you find a place to sit, you can easily share this.
Just go in knowing this is a stand-and-eat (or hopefully sit-and-eat) situation with no trays and precious little seating. The Florida heat can turn creamy brie into a genuine mess if you lose focus. Grab utensils if you can, find a bench, and eat it while it’s still holding itself together.
