Conservation Station Closure Date

Significant changes are coming to Rafiki’s Planet Watch. Walt Disney World has officially announced that Conservation Station, the Wildlife Express Train, and the Affection Section will temporarily close on February 23, 2026. This closure is part of a major reimagining to make way for the highly anticipated Bluey and Bingo experience. While we’re sad to see the current version go, the new “excursion” promises to bring the world of the Heeler family to life right in the heart of Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

What to Expect When Conservation Station Reopens

When the area returns in Summer 2026, it will look quite different. Here is everything confirmed and rumored to be waiting for you:

  • Bluey and Bingo Meet and Greet: For the first time at Walt Disney World, guests can meet, dance, and play with Bluey and her sister, Bingo.
  • Interactive Games: The “P.A.C.K.” (Playful Animal Crew for Kids) will host games inspired by the show, including a themed version of “Keepy Uppy.”
  • Australian Animal Experience: A brand-new outdoor component will feature native Australian animals, celebrating Bluey’s home country. Animals currently part of the petting zoo will be rehomed following the last day of operations on Feb. 22. So, visit soon if you want to enjoy seeing and petting the current animals.
  • The Animation Experience (Relocated): While the drawing classes at Conservation Station are expected to close permanently, a similar experience is slated to open at Disney’s Hollywood Studios as part of the “Magic of Disney Animation.”
  • Classic Conservation Elements: While the “Bluey Takeover” is significant, the working veterinary treatment room and nutrition center are expected to remain as core educational components of the building.
