How to Score a Free Chipotle Burrito During the Basketball Championship Finals

Fuel up for the finals with the Chipotle Free Burrito campaign. Discover how Josh Hart and Mikal Bridges are helping fans score 53,000 free burritos.
While we love tracking the latest snacks hitting the Disney Parks or Universal Orlando, sometimes (okay, often) a nationwide food celebration is just too big to ignore, especially when it involves free burritos. As theme park fans, we know the value of a high-energy, protein-packed meal to power through a long day of walking, and Chipotle is stepping up to fuel fans across the country with a massive new championship celebration.
Chipotle Mexican Grill has officially announced its new “53 Years. 53 Real Ingredients.” campaign. Tied to the current men’s professional basketball championship series between New York and San Antonio, this campaign celebrates a unique 1973 connection: the year New York won its last championship, and San Antonio’s professional basketball journey first began. To honor this 53-year history and its own commitment to 53 real ingredients, the restaurant chain is giving away a whopping 53,000 free burritos to fans nationwide with its Chipotle Free Burrito campaign
Chipotle: How to Score Your Free Burrito

Getting your hands on a free entrée is all about speed. Immediately following the final game of the championship series, Chipotle will post a special text-to-win code on X (formerly Twitter). The first 53,000 fans to text that designated code to 888-222 will unlock a free entrée offer.
“This year’s series created a connection we couldn’t ignore: 53 years tied to a unique championship storyline and 53 real ingredients that define Chipotle,” said Stephanie Perdue, senior vice president of brand marketing at Chipotle. “Giving away 53,000 free burritos is our way of bringing that story to life for fans.”
Eat Like Team Chipotle Athletes

In addition to the Chipotle Free Burrito campaign, Chipotle superfans and professional basketball stars Josh Hart and Mikal Bridges are joining the lineup. The duo is starring in Chipotle’s new “Time For Real” advertising campaign, which is set to premiere on June 5 during the second game of the championship series. The ad, directed by Emmy-winning filmmaker Jake Scott, showcases how real ingredients support their performance and daily routines.
You don’t have to wait for the ad to eat like the pros, though. Right now, you can order Hart and Bridges’ exact go-to high-protein meals as limited-time featured digital items on the Chipotle app and Chipotle.com. Here is what the athletes are packing into their orders to stay fueled:
- Josh Hart’s High Protein Burrito: White rice, double adobo chicken, black beans, fresh tomato salsa, roasted chili-corn salsa, sour cream and cheese. (Packing a massive 95g of protein!)
- Mikal Bridges’ High Protein Bowl: White rice, double adobo chicken, tomatillo-green chili salsa, roasted chili-corn salsa and lettuce. (Delivering 71g of protein!)

Both players are legendary Chipotle fans. As Celebrity Card holders, they get free Chipotle for a year, and Bridges has famously claimed to eat Chipotle every single day since 2013. Hart has even shared that an “Away game = Chipotle on a flight” and remarked that “Chipotle was sent from the heavens.” Whether you are prepping for a full day of roller coasters or settling in on the couch to watch the basketball finals, make sure your phone is ready when the final buzzer sounds so you can grab your text code for this Chipotle Free Burrito campaign.
