Beak and Barrel reservations at Disney World faced a major system crash on launch day. Find out what happened and when booking will reopen next week.

Beak and Barrel reservations

Ahoy there, mateys! Batten down the hatches and prepare for a tale of technical turmoil, salty sarcasm, and a dining debacle of Disney proportions. Today’s chronicle centers on the chaos at Walt Disney World when The Beak and Barrel, the swashbuckling new Pirates of the Caribbean–themed tavern in Magic Kingdom, was supposed to start accepting dining reservations… but the system had other ideas.

A Perfect Storm: ADR Meets Error Codes

It was the morning of Thursday, August 14, 2025, when pirates everywhere were rising early, tricorn hats at the ready, trying to secure coveted Advance Dining Reservations (ADRs) for the Beak & Barrel’s grand debut. Reservations were scheduled to go live at 6 a.m. Eastern, via both the Walt Disney World website and the My Disney Experience app.

But just before dawn, the Walt Disney World dining reservation system shuddered and crashed. Guests were greeted with error messages worthy of Jonah himself: “Hei Hei’s Fault,” “We’re Down for Maintenance,” and other cryptic maritime misfires.

By 7 a.m., a few hopeful souls managed to wrangle their way into the system, only for another server crash to knock them off course. Guest Relations and phone lines? Equally unhelpful. Long hold times and dropped calls. Disney not-so-magically hung up on many before they even could groan “aye aye”

By 9:45 a.m. or so, the reservation system had limped back to life for everything except Beak and Barrel. Guests could book other restaurants, but every time they clicked on Beak and Barrel, they’d get a polite message: “Not today, buccaneer.”

Beak and Barrel Reservations: When Will the Ship Right Itself?

If you were hoping to book today, haul anchor and look to the horizon. The Beak and Barrel reservations have been delayed to next week, according to an update on the Walt Disney World site. Disney invites guests to return during the week of August 18, 2025, once the system is seaworthy again. Still, as of now, no specific new date or launch time has been announced. Plotting your course in these waters may require vigilance

Beak and Barrel Reservations: Why This is Peak Comedy—and Pure Disney

  1. The irony is delicious: A Pirates-themed bar, rife with tales of shipwrecks, succumbs to one of humanity’s greatest nemeses—technology.
  2. ”Hei Hei’s Fault” error: While Hei Hei is typically the… well… brightest chicken in Moana, today he’s the jester in the server room, clucking our plans to Davey Jones’ locker.
  3. Three-hour comedy of errors: Guests went from harpoons to hullabaloo—holding lines, browser refresh marathons, and morale dropping faster than an anchor in a maelstrom.
  4. Rum (and reservations) for none… until further notice.

Pirate’s Guide: What To Do Next

StepAction
1Keep one eye peeled—Disney’s promised to share the new reservation go-live date soon.
2Be ready at 6 a.m. Eastern next week—that’s when they should hit “Launch” again.
3Set alerts or alarms like a true privateer; places like MouseDining and MainStMagic will have the intel.
4Enlist a first mate—split screen, double device, or a friend. Any extra pair of fingers helps when booking opens.

Beak and Barrel Reservations: Parting Shot (of Rum)

Still, there’s hope across the briny deep: Beak and Barrel is still on track to open its doors on Friday, August 29, 2025. So sharpen those wits and warm up your devices, fellow swashbucklers. Next week holds your next chance to salivate over Kraken’s Catch, sip on a Siren’s Whisper, and toast with a Plunderer’s Punch in a skull mug. Stay salty and may the odds be ever in your favor (of booking at Beak & Barrel)!
