If you plan to visit SeaWorld’s popular water park and search for honest food insights, this Aquatica Orlando food review is for you. During a recent trip, we stopped by Waterstone Grill, one of the park’s main quick-service dining spots, to try their Crispy Fish Sandwich. Known for offering options under the All-Day Dining Deal, Waterstone Grill surprised us with a portion-heavy entrée that challenged the usual reputation of theme park meals. Before spending $16.99 on this crispy creation, here’s everything you need to know.

Waterstone Grill functions as a popular choice for guests utilizing the All-Day Dining program. WE noticed several groups using the All-Day Dining program when we visited to do this Aquatica Orlando food review. Water park food often receives a well-earned reputation for being overpriced and underwhelming. However, the Waterstone Grill Crispy Fish Sandwich surprised us. It rose above expectations, though not without a few caveats.

Aquatica Orlando Food Review

When guests enter Aquatica Orlando after crossing the bridge to the main section of the water park, they will see WaterStone Grill on their left. This quick service location serves a standard menu with salads, burgers, and chicken tenders. Though the Mediterranean Salad and Chicken Bacon Wrap qualify as somewhat non-traditional water park menu items, we only saw them on the online menu. We must have missed them on the in-person menu. Nevertheless, the Crispy Fish Sandwich is the most interesting entrée at WaterStone Grill. Thus, we decided to base our Aquatica Orlando food review upon it.

Aquatica Orlando Food Review: Crispy Fish Sandwich at Waterstone Grill – $16.99

Aquatica Orlando Food Review

The Crispy Fish Sandwich menu description indicates guests receive “Beer battered sustainable haddock filet served with lettuce, tomato & cajun tartar sauce on a brioche bun. Served with choice of side.” For the record, there is no choice of sides. Guests receive a reasonable portion of fries. These fries are standard water park fries. Also, we did not receive lettuce or tomatoes with our sandwich. However, we did receive a slice of standard American cheese with our sandwich.

The tartar sauce, though above average, was not Cajun either. To complete our negatives about this entrée, the bun did not look or taste like a brioche bun. The bun functions as an average bun that any guest would find as the store brand at their local grocery store.

Aquatica Orlando Food Review: Portion Size of Fish

Despite all of that, this sandwich shines due to the portion size of the fish and really nothing else. Nonetheless, that was enough for a solid meal. This sandwich features a generous portion of fish breaded and deep-fried. The exterior has a solid crunch, offering the satisfying texture one hopes for in a fried fish dish. However, the portion size of the fish makes this sandwich stand out. The fried fish is served on a standard quick service bun. Based on the amount of fish we received with our order, guests could make at least three normal-sized fish sandwiches with it.

The fish comes heavily battered, but it is a big piece nonetheless. The fish tasted well above our expectations in terms of quick service quality. Sure, you will get a bite of mostly batter when eating the edge pieces of the fish. That will be greasy, as one would expect at a water park quick-service restaurant. Despite being hindered by the other components of this entrée, the fish quality overcame it to be an above-average quick service meal.

Waterstone Grill

In fairness, we ordered this early in the day, so that may have helped the quality. Either way, this makes a great start to your day if buying the All-Day Dining deal. That deal at Aquatica Orlando costs $44.49 for adults plus taxes and fees. Waterstone Grill opens at 10:30 a.m. and is the first quick service to open daily. Since guests receive an entrée, an additional side or dessert, and a non-alcoholic beverage every 90 minutes. Dining here would give guests a head start regarding timing since other dining locations at Aquatica Orlando open at 11:00 a.m. or later.

Overall, the crispy fish sandwich at Waterstone Grill is a solid option if you’re craving something filling and easy to eat between rides. It won’t blow your mind, but it hits the mark for a casual, theme park meal. Also, all summer, Aquatica Orlando will host AquaGlow after-hours events on select evenings.
