This Animal Kingdom dining update details the Harambe Market refurbishment, menu changes, and what Disney fans can expect during the closure. New menu items arrive at Terra Treats, Kusafiri Coffee & Bakery, The Smiling Crocodile, and Eight Spoon Cafe.

As of today, the Harambe Market quick-serivce dining location is closed for refurbishment to convert to having a burger, hot dogs, and chicken strips menu. This step is related to Restaurantosaurus at Disney’s Animal Kingdom closing on Feburary 2, 2026. We expect Harambe Market to reopen at least by Feburary 2, 2026.

Although Harambe Market no longer sells food and beverage, the outdoor seating area at Harambe Market looked open for guest seating on the day we visited. Signage posted at the entrance directs guests to nearby dining options, including Flame Tree Barbecue, Pizzafari, and Restaurantosaurus. We found it interesting that it did not direct people to Kusafiri Coffee & Bakery.

However, the temporary closing of Harambe Market causes several other changes to menus at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Several changes were known in advance. However, we discovered a few changes with this Animal Kingdom dining update during our visit today to the theme park.

Fortunately, some of the unique menu items sold at Harambe Market have moved to Kusafiri Coffee & Bakery nearby. Since many months ago, Kusafiri dropped its lunch menu, this nearby location in the Africa area makes sense. Those lunch menu items include:

  • Harambe Chicken Rice Bowl
  • Plant-based Picadillo Rice Bowl
  • Harissa Chicken Wrap
Kusafiri Coffee & Bakery

These items will be sold from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. during the Harambe Market refurbishment.

Terra Treats Converted to Hot Dogs

Terra Treats

For some time, the Terra Treats food and beverage kiosk at Disney’s Animal Kingdom has been closed. It used to sell budget-friendly pizza that tasted better than the pizza at Pizzafari, also at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Based on our visit today, we noticed new hot dog menu. With Terra Treats location on the way to the Africa area, this reopening makes sense. Still, we miss the rotating monthly pizza menu formerly at Terra Treats. However, having this place open instead of closed improves the guest experience.

The Smiling Crocodile Starts Selling Arepas

The Smiling Crocodile

Walt Disney World appears to be giving guests a preview of food coming to the future Tropical Americas land. Terra Treats opened and started selling Colombian hot dogs. Additionally, The Smiling Crocodile reopened, selling arepas. These come in pork and chicken varieties. They cost $13.49 with plantain chips.
