Summer is fast approaching and we all know that means HOT temperatures at Walt Disney World. It is super important to keep cool and hydrated while playing in the parks, but what about on those much needed rest days? One of the often overlooked and best ways to keep cool on those hot Florida days is to spend it relaxing (or playing!) in your resort pool.

Each Walt Disney World Resort has at least one, and usually multiple pools with various levels of theming. The value resorts will have the most basic of pools, moderate resorts will have more theming, a slide, and typically some degree of back story. The deluxe resorts and villas will have the biggest and most themed pools with various slides and features. And while all of the resort pools are fun and a wonderful break from the heat and hustle, here are our TOP FIVE Walt Disney Resort Pools.

#4 — The Uzima Pool: Situated at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, this zero-entry pool is surrounded by lush landscaping and features a waterslide shaped like a rocky outcropping. This pool is located at Jambo House and not to be confused with the smaller Samawati Springs pool over at Kidani Village. Both pools are amazing and have ample seating and a great pool bar. The Uzima Pool is located just beyond The Mara quick service and around the corner from a great safari viewing area. What could be cooler than taking a swim, grabbing a beverage, and watching safari animals all in the same place?

#3 — The Lava Pool: Found at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, this pool features a towering volcano with a waterfall cascading down its side. Guests can slide down the volcano into the pool below. There is also an amazing splash pad for the little ones just off this pool. Like most pools, there are fun pool games, lively music, and all sorts of things to do during your pool day. Not to mention that if you are spending the day at The Lava Pool, you are onlu a few steps away from the Pineapple Lanai, home of the famous Dole Whip!

#2 — The Fuentes del Morro Pool: Located at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, this pirate-themed pool boasts water cannons, slides, and a Spanish fortress-inspired design. The area surrounding the Fuentes del Morro Pool, known as Old Port Royal, boasts Banana Cabana pool bar where you can pick up some delicious snacks and beverages. It’s easy to spend the day luxuriating around the ample loungers or tables around the pool deck while watching the skyliner zip by. As a side note, each village at Caribbean Beach Resort has its own quiet pool for a quieter, more peaceful pool day.

#1 — (No surprise here!) Stormalong Bay: Located at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts, this massive pool complex features a sandy bottom, lazy river, waterfalls, a shipwreck replica with a waterslide, and even a whirlpool area. This amazing pool is basically a mini water park. If you add in a cabana rental this already amazing pool becomes your personal oasis for a perfect day! Floating around the lazy river is the definition of luxuriation. Following up by grabbing a snack at the walk up window at Beaches or Cream is the literal cherry on top!
