Disney Feeding America partnership expands its hunger relief efforts with “The Bear,” delivering meals to children when school is out.

Disney is expanding its long-standing commitment to fighting hunger by teaming up once again with Feeding America and local food banks in New York City, Los Angeles, and Chicago. This summer, the initiative aims to provide approximately 450,000 nutritious meals to children and families facing food insecurity during the school break, when access to regular school meals is limited.
The effort officially launched on Tuesday, June 24, and features support from the cast of FX’s Emmy Award-winning series “The Bear,” which is filmed and set in Chicago. The campaign will serve families across three major cities through partnerships with the Food Bank For New York City, Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, and Greater Chicago Food Depository.

Coverage of this impactful campaign will air on ABC Owned Television Stations—WABC (New York), KABC (Los Angeles), and WLS (Chicago)—as well as on Good Morning America, helping raise awareness about summer hunger and food insecurity in local communities.
“We’re incredibly grateful to Disney, FX, Hulu, and ABC for their continued partnership in fighting food insecurity,” said Courtney Storer, co-executive producer of The Bear. “We hope fans of the show join us in supporting this critical cause.”
“Millions of kids lose access to meals when school is out,” added Lauren Biedron, Feeding America’s SVP of corporate and foundation partnerships. “Disney’s continued support helps provide healthy meals so children can thrive all summer.”
Each year, over 20 million children rely on school-provided meals. During the summer, the Feeding America network collaborates with local organizations to keep food flowing to where it’s needed most.
For over a decade, The Walt Disney Company has been dedicated to ending hunger, helping deliver millions of meals through Feeding America. Their efforts include food rescue programs at Disney parks, the Disney VoluntEARS program, and the Disney Matching Gifts initiative.
