We tried the new Mango Vanilla Mousse Disney dessert at Harambe Market. Here’s what worked, what didn’t, and if it’s worth the $6.19.

We ordered the new Mango-Vanilla Mousse at Harambe Market at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This quick service location resides in the Africa section of the theme park. Themed as an East African street market centered around a colonial-era train depot and water tower, it offers a vibrant and immersive atmosphere, complete with colorful facades, hand-painted signage, thatched-roof kiosks, and shaded communal seating.
Mango Passion Fruit Cheesecake at Harambe Market

This treat replaced one of our favorites, the Mango Passion Fruit Cheesecake. For our most recent visit, we utilized the Walt Disney World mobile order system. This order was simple to place. We received a message that our order was ready in about one minute. Nevertheless, when we arrived at the pick-up window four, our order was not prepared. Still, about a minute later, a cast member arrived at the window with our order.
The menu description reads,” Tropical Fruit-glazed Vanilla Milk Mousse, Mango-Passion Compote, and Whipped Panna Cotta.” It costs $6.19. The menu description does not mention the decorative portion of the dessert on top. We always find that to be negative when descriptions leave things out. In addition, the crust on the bottom, which is common with mousse desserts at Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort, is not mentioned in the menu description.
Review of Mango Vanilla Mousse Disney at Harambe Market

Our first bite, in simple terms, was not good. Based on that, we decided to try the decorative topping next. That part tasted like standard Disney white chocolate. We have eaten plenty of that on seasonal treats at Walt Disney World.
During our visit, we took a few more bites of the Mango Vanilla Mousse Disney World started selling. The fruit glaze works fine, and the vanilla milk mousse qualifies as an average theme park treat. However, the mango-passion compote within and the whipped panna cotta fail to match that level.

Even after a few more bites, we experienced the same average to below average quality with this treat. This makes a significant step down from the previous dessert at Harambe Market. Hopefully, the chefs will tinker with this; otherwise, we may have just received a really bad one during our visit. As you can guess, we would not recommend ordering this new Walt Disney World dessert.
