MuppetVision 3D closes its curtains June 7 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Extended hours provide guests with a final opportunity to visit.

MuppetVision 3D

“MuppetVision 3D” will have extended hours on its final day of operation, June 7th. The attraction, which typically closes one hour before Disney’s Hollywood Studios closes, will remain open until the park closes on June 7th. That means the attraction will stay open until 10:00 p.m. on June 7.

After more than three decades of zany antics, heartfelt nostalgia, and classic Muppet humor, “MuppetVision 3D” is officially closing its curtains at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The announcement marks the end of an attraction that debuted in 1991 and was the final creative project overseen by Jim Henson before his passing.

MuppetVision 3D

MuppetVision 3D was a whimsical 15-minute show combining 3D film, animatronics, and in-theater effects. Guests joined Kermit the Frog and the rest of the Muppet gang on a chaotic tour of Muppet Labs, where everything that could go wrong usually did. From Fozzie’s corny jokes to Sweetums’ live-action appearances, it perfectly captured the offbeat, irreverent charm that made the Muppets cultural icons.

The attraction has remained essentially unchanged for over three decades, even as other areas of the park have evolved dramatically. Despite its vintage feel, MuppetVision held a special place in the hearts of Disney and Muppet fans alike, many of whom considered it a “hidden gem” and a welcome respite from thrill rides and long lines.

A Monsters Inc. Land is planned to replace the Muppets Courtyard area at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The new Monsters Inc. Land will feature an all-new roller coaster that takes guests through the door vault scene from the movie. Walt Disney World also plans on having an attraction-style film replacement for MuppetVision 3D, as well as a dining replacement for Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano, which closed last month.
