Wild Oasis Busch Gardens fans were disappointed by a last-minute delay. Learn the new opening date and what to expect from the immersive new realm.

The Wild Oasis area at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay has its new official opening date. All guests are invited to enjoy this revitalized theme park area on June 11. Previews of various types will take place from June 6 to 10.

Originally, Wild Oasis Busch Gardens previews were set to start for platinum annual pass members on May 30. However, May 30 did not function as the first day that guests could enter this new theme park area. Many preparations were made for this day. So, how did it go? However, it did not happen. On the evening of May 29, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay fans received notification that the previews had been cancelled.

Wild Oasis Busch Gardens Previews Cancelled

In fairness, the Busch Gardens Tampa Bay pass member preview was declared a technical preview. That means not everything would be open and operating. For example, we did not expect the Tree Top Drop attraction to be ready for this preview. Nevertheless, nothing opened on May 30, as the previews had failed to take place.

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay sent out this message about the cancelled previews: “As a valued Pass Member, we know how much you’re looking forward to previewing our all-new Wild Oasis realm. We had planned to start Pass Member Previews tomorrow, but we have made the difficult decision to postpone the start of our preview days.

Our teams have been working around the clock to get the realm ready for you and your family to enjoy, and despite everyone’s best efforts, we need more time. There are so many exciting elements coming together to make this North America’s most immersive kid-friendly adventure realm, and we want to make sure that when we finally open the gates to you that we’re able to deliver on that incredible experience.

We understand that many of you have already made plans to visit the park for the previews, and we sincerely apologize for this last minute change and any inconvenience this may cause. We hope that you’ll be able to take advantage of our new preview dates, which we’ll share as soon as possible over the next few days.

We are grateful for your continued support and thank you for being part of the Busch Gardens family.”

New Preview Dates and Opening Date

On June 3, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay fans found out the new opening schedule for Wild Oasis. A new preview schedule was released that look like this:

• Friday, June 6: Media & Platinum Pass Member Previews (includes special Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 10:30 a.m.)
• Saturday, June 7: Platinum & Gold Pass Member Previews  
• Sunday, June 8: Platinum, Gold & Silver Pass Member Previews  
• Monday, June 9 & Tuesday, June 10: Platinum, Gold, Silver & Bronze Pass Member Previews

What is Wild Oasis Busch Gardens?

All Busch Gardens Tampa Bay guests can enjoy Wild Oasis starting June 11. Wild Oasis is an all-new, immersive realm designed to captivate guests of all ages with its vibrant rainforest theme. Located within the Jungala area, this kid-friendly adventure zone combines attractions, interactive play areas, and engaging animal exhibits to entertain, educate, and inspire visitors.

At the heart of Wild Oasis is Habitat Hideaway, a multi-species habitat that offers up-close encounters with fascinating animals, including capybaras, giant anteaters, squirrel monkeys, and tropical birds. Guests can enjoy unique viewing perspectives from both ground-level and elevated walkways, fostering a deeper connection with wildlife.

For thrill-seekers, the Tree Top Drop is a 35-foot drop tower ride featuring immersive multimedia effects that transport riders into a cenote-themed environment filled with dynamic jungle scenes. Adventurous guests can also explore the Canopy Climb, an expansive structure featuring four levels of climbing challenges, 200 feet of horizontal trails, and vertical climbs that reach up to 45 feet.

Younger visitors can cool off at Enchanted Falls, an interactive splash pad with fountains and spray towers, while the Rainforest Quest offers an educational scavenger hunt highlighting the interconnected wonders of nature.
