Wild Oasis Busch Gardens Tampa Bay is finally open! Explore the new rainforest-themed area, filled with family-friendly fun and thrilling adventures.

The original planned opening date for Wild Oasis to be open to all guests was June 6. However, Wild Oasis Busch Gardens Tampa Bay faced a few delays regarding opening. New animals have arrived for Wild Oasis. The brand-new TOMA at Orang Cafe quick service restaurant opened up two weeks ago. TOMA at Orang Cafe resides near Wild Oasis in the Jungala area of Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. Many preparations had been made for Wild Oasis Busch Gardens’ opening day. However, fans had to wait.

However, on July 8, Busch Gardens pass members received emails stating that Wild Oasis would begin previews on July 12. A grand opening was planned for July 15. All of this was happening while rumors of a new park president circulated.

Wild Oasis Busch Gardens Did Finally Open

Despite these struggles, Wild Oasis offers numerous new aspects to enjoy. When we spoke with former Busch Gardens Tampa Bay Park President Jeff Davis during a media event, he emphasized that he would not rush any ride due to safety concerns. His statement and other details caused us to doubt that the one ride in Wild Oasis would open on time, but we were surprised that the two sets of technical previews would be cancelled for pass members. Yet, they were!

Still, on July 12, Wild Oasis previews happened. In the passmember preview email, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay wrote “As you explore the lush landscapes and playful experiences of Wild Oasis, keep in mind that our newest animal residents are still getting settled into their new home. They may take a little time to fully emerge—but we promise, they’re worth the wait!” Well, was it worth the wait?

Our Experience Visting Wild Oasis

At this point, we have visited Wild Oasis twice. We visited it on a pass member preview day on July 13 and attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony at the grand opening on July 15. In both cases, we lacked time for a full exploration, as we had media duties at other theme parks. However, the area looks bright and fresh. It makes an excellent addition for all groups visiting Busch Gardens Tampa Bay.

Waiting is Over to Explore Wild Oasis

What can guests expect at Wild Oasis in the Jungala area of Busch Gardens Tampa Bay? According to Busch Gardens, they can expect to experience North America’s most immersive kid-friendly adventure realm, designed to entertain, educate, and inspire. Explorers will be immersed in the sounds and sights of the rainforest and engage in activities that touch on its many elements, including an all-new drop-tower ride with engaging special effects, a high-energy climbing canopy, a new multi-species animal habitat, interactive water play areas, and a fun scavenger hunt.

In fairness, not everything is perfect yet at Wild Oasis. However, we saw the Treetop Drop ride running on July 15 with many children and adults enjoying it. Still, at Wild Oasis, guests will be immersed in a multitude of diverse experiences that include:

• Step into Habitat Hideaway, an all-new multispecies exhibit where the rainforest comes to life with exciting new animals such as Capybaras, Giant anteaters, Squirrel monkeys and Tropical birds.
• Take adventure to new heights at the Treetop Drop, a 35-foot drop tower featuring an immersive multimedia experience with action-packed jungle scenes and a cenote-themed environment.
• Get challenged with four levels of climbing structures at the Canopy Climb, over 200 feet of horizontal climbing trails, and vertical climbs reaching up to 45 feet high.
• Cool off at Enchanted Falls, a fun interactive splash pad and play area featuring fountains and spray towers perfect for younger adventurers looking for fun.
