Magic Kingdom’s first year-round nighttime parade in years, Disney Starlight Parade, launches July 20 with stunning floats and Disney favorites. Additionally, a temporary change will be made to the Magic Kingdom theme park reservation rules.

The “Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away” Parade debuts at Magic Kingdom on July 20. This long-awaited nighttime parade will feature “enchanting moments unfold from favorite Disney and Pixar stories such as Moana, Peter Pan, Encanto, Frozen, Pinocchio and more. It all happens along the parade route—from Frontierland to Main Street, U.S.A.”
“Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away” should be an enchanting new nighttime parade. This marks the park’s first year-round nighttime parade since the Main Street Electrical Parade concluded in 2016.
The parade features nine illuminated floats, each bringing to life dreamy moments from Disney stories. Designed by a creative team with experience on iconic parades like SpectroMagic, these floats serve as moving stages, combining innovative lighting, music, and choreography to create a magical experience. According to Walt Disney World, Guests can look forward to themed merchandise, including logo tee shirts, light-up Mickey ears, and a special popcorn mix available exclusively at the Main Street Confectionery. The Disney Starlight Parade promises to be a nostalgic yet fresh addition to Magic Kingdom’s entertainment lineup, inviting guests to dream big and bright under the stars.
Disney Starlight Parade: Magic Kingdom Theme Park Reservation Changes
In advance of the July 20th debut of the Disney Starlight Parade nighttime parade, Walt Disney World announced a temporary change to the Magic Kingdom restrictions regarding annual passholders’ theme park reservations on the weekend. Walt Disney World posted the exact details on its website.
It reads: “For a Limited Time, Starting July 20, 2025: Due to anticipated high demand, upon the opening of the Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away parade on July 20, 2025, Passholders visiting Magic Kingdom park at any time of day (including after 2:00 PM) must have a theme park reservation. Passholders will continue to be able to enter EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park after 2:00 PM without a theme park reservation.
Theme park reservations are limited and subject to availability, and reservation requirements are subject to change. Applicable blockout dates apply.”
We have no idea how long this change will be in place. In addition, it sounds like theme park reservations for annual passholders are here to stay!
