Celebrate summer at the new Lego Festival Legoland Florida with five fun zones, exclusive builds, and Peely from Lego Fortnite—weekends through June 8!

May 3 marked the beginning of the new Lego Festival at Legoland Florida. This new festival offers plenty of fun zones for guests to enjoy, starting an exciting summer season at Legoland Florida. In addition to the new festival, the Sea Life Aquarium at Legoland Florida opens May 23, enhancing the options for entertainment this summer at the theme park resort.

We were invited to Legoland, Florida, to experience the Lego Festival on its opening day. The festival runs on weekends through June 8. Like all Legoland Florida events, the primary focus is on groups with younger children up to age 12.

During our visit, we tried two of the special food items for the inaugural Lego Festival at Legoland Florida. We also experienced the five fun zones. In addition, the event has a scavenger hunt where guests accumulate stamps in each zone to return to the front of the park to collect their prize.

Lego Festival Legoland Florida Play Zones

During the Lego Festival, guests can enjoy five never-before-seen play zones, packed with festival vibes, entertainment, and activities. The opportunities include brick-building, brand-new shows, massive builds, exclusive Lego Minifigures, music, dancing, and unique Lego experiences that guests will not find anywhere else. All of this is included with your theme park admission.

The Lego Festival features five play zones. Those zones are:

• Music Zone
• Creative Zone
• Chill Out Zone
• Dance Zone
• Gaming Zone.

The five play zones offer various entertainment for guests to enjoy, such as:

Zones

Battle of the Bands – “They’re popstars! They’re rock stars! Introducing your headliners – Beatz in Harmony and Thunder Brickz, who will take to the stage in the Music Zone for a spectacular show!” This takes place near the Pirate River Quest attraction.

Creating Together – “Experience the ultimate way to play by using your creativity and imagination by having fun! In this zone, take part in our Fantastical Cities community build and make your own LEGO Minifigure head cookie!”

Master Model Builder Classes—“Join in one of our masterclasses with Master Model Builder Alec—he’ll give you the tips and tricks to make your builds even more awesome!” We visited this zone when Alec (via video screen) taught us how to make an awesome Lego spinner and the importance of things being symmetrical in order.

Build to the Beat – “In this zone, you can be part of our Mosaic Maker – a huge LEGO® mosaic for all our festival fans! Plus, take a break from all the dancing to meet Minifigure royalty and try delicious festival food.”

DJ GoodVibes Dance Party – “Throw some shapes and learn some new dance moves at this family dance party! DJ GoodVibes will be spinning records and meeting families!”

Peely of Lego Fortnite at Lego Festival Legoland Florida

The most popular play zone at this new festival was the Gaming Zone. Legoland announced that Lego Fortnite will be a key part of the Lego Festival. Legoland stated, “The adventure is building in the GAMING ZONE at the LEGO Festival! Get ready to immerse yourself in the world of LEGO Fortnite with never-before-seen experiences at LEGOLAND® Florida Resort weekends, May 3rd through June 8th!”

This also meant Peely from Lego Fortnite would appear in the gaming zone. During our visit, Peely arrived inside the Gaming Zone at the end of the dance party zone. If you want to meet Peely, there will be a meet-and-greet time after the dance part. We suggest arriving early since this building will get crowded quickly.

Florida-themed “I Heart Play” model

Near the front of Legoland Florida, guests can pick up a packet to help them go on a scavenger hunt through the five play zones. While there, they can see the “I Heart Play” Lego Model. Legoland is about play and fun, and this model represents that. Talented Master Model Builders at Legoland Florida Resort have taken brick building to the next level today, unveiling a giant Lego heart symbolizing the love of play.

The Florida-themed “I Heart Play” model took 650 hours to create using more than 120,000 bricks and brings nature and science to life. It features a Lego astronaut, vibrant flamingos, swaying palm trees, and a stunning sunset scene. This is all intended to celebrate the spirit of the Sunshine State. Standing over six feet tall, the colorful model welcomes guests as they enter the theme park. It stands as one of seven created for Legoland Resorts worldwide to mark the first-ever Lego Festival experience.

Hearts have been built to celebrate the love of play after recent research found that 76% of parents believe that kids now have less time and space to play than ever before. Lego Festival was created to encourage families to play on an epic scale, inspiring creativity, confidence, and learning in the lead-up to World Play Day on June 11.

David Hilliard, Master Model Builder for Legoland Florida Resort, said: “Behind every LEGO model, there’s a story and this one tells the world that play is powerful. We hope this giant LEGO brick-built heart reminds kids that creativity may start small, just like a single brick, but it can grow into something big and incredible!”
