What is Howl-O-Scream at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay?

Halloween Horror Nights does not function as the only spooky game in Florida. The long-running Howl-O-Scream at Busch Gardens also brings the after-hours scares.

Howl-O-Scream at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay is an annual Halloween event transforming the theme park into a terrifying playground of fear. Held on select nights from early September through early November, the event is designed for thrill-seekers and horror fans, featuring haunted houses, scare zones, live shows, and darkened roller coasters. Each year brings new themes and storylines, original haunted house concepts, and returning fan favorites that promise fresh scares. Park-wide scare zones filled with roaming creatures create an immersive and unpredictable experience, ensuring that guests are never safe, even between attractions.

Unlike the family-friendly daytime events, Howl-O-Scream focuses on entertaining more mature audiences. It is not recommended for children under 13. The event begins after dark, plunging the park into a sinister atmosphere with eerie lighting, spine-chilling sound effects, and sinister costumed performers. In addition to haunted mazes, popular rides like Iron Gwazi and SheiKra operate with minimal lighting for extra adrenaline. Guests can also enjoy themed food, drinks, and merchandise exclusive to the event. Howl-O-Scream has become a staple of Florida’s Halloween season, known for its production value, intense scares, and ever-evolving horror themes that keep fans coming back year after year.

Tickets can be used on any Howl-O-Scream event night with no blackout dates.
