In recent years, zero-proof cocktails, also known as non-alcoholic or spirit-free cocktails, have significantly increased in popularity. Driven by changing consumer habits and a growing focus on health and wellness, more people are seeking sophisticated, alcohol-free drink options that don’t compromise on flavor or presentation. This shift has led to a surge in demand for complex, crafted beverages that mirror traditional cocktails in experience but contain no alcohol.

Bars and restaurants are responding by developing creative zero-proof menus using ingredients like herbal infusions, shrubs, bitters, and non-alcoholic spirits. Brands such as Seedlip, Ritual, and Lyre’s have emerged to offer high-quality alternatives that mimic the taste and complexity of gin, whiskey, and rum. Social trends like “sober curiosity,” Dry January, and mindful drinking movements have further fueled the trend, especially among Millennials and Gen Z consumers.

The rise of zero-proof cocktails also reflects a cultural shift toward inclusivity. They provide an enjoyable, elevated drinking experience for everyone, regardless of drinking preferences. As innovation continues, the category is becoming more respected and mainstream, with mixologists treating non-alcoholic cocktails as a legitimate art form. This evolution is reshaping drinking culture and expanding what it means to enjoy a night out.

What About Mocktails at Epic Universe?

Universal Epic Universe at Universal Orlando Resort has opened for previews. This brand-new theme park has an official opening on May 22, 2025. It features entirely new worlds, immersive lands, and cutting-edge attractions. Spanning over 750 acres, Universal Epic Universe will nearly double the resort’s footprint and introduce a next-generation park experience.

The themed worlds include Super Nintendo World, featuring rides based on Mario and Donkey Kong, as well as lands inspired by “How to Train Your Dragon” and the Universal Classic Monsters in the world of Dark Universe. A Wizarding World of Harry Potter area rounds out the intellectual property-based regions. This expansion marks a bold step in the theme park industry, aiming to redefine the boundaries of themed entertainment and compete more evenly with Walt Disney World.

Mocktail Options at Universal Epic Universe

In this resource, we will speak broadly about non-alcoholic beverages. We will not distinguish between mocktails at Epic Universe and zero-proof cocktails. There is a differnce but after examining the non-alcoholic options at Universal Epic Universe, the terms are fuzzy in their usahe at this theme park.

However, this list will not include sugary soda-style beverages targeted at kids. So, what non-alcoholic beverage can guests enjoy while visiting Universal Epic Universe? Also, we will break these down into the five areas of Universal Epic Universe. In addition, not all menu items are out or available since the theme park is still in previews. This means more non-alcoholic options may be coming. We do expect Heineken Zero or Michelob Ultra Zero to appear on the menus at some point. The non-alcoholic options currently include:

Apparently, Vikings do not drink non-alcoholic beverages, except soft drinks. There are reports of dragons in the Isle of Berk, but no zero-proof cocktails so far.

As expected, far more non-alcoholic options exist in the Celestial Park area. This central hub functions as the main dining area for the theme park.
