Universal confirms a Fallout-themed haunted house for Halloween Horror Nights. Will it draw from the video game, TV series, or both? Here’s what we know so far. Halloween Horror Nights will have another house based on a video game, Fallout, for 2025 in Orlando and Hollywood.

Halloween Horror Nights 2025 at Universal Orlando Resort promises an unforgettable scare-fest, running from August 29 to November 2—the earliest start in its history. This year’s event features immersive haunted houses inspired by iconic horror films and original stories, alongside terrifying scare zones and live entertainment
As usual, the rumor mill started early regarding the Halloween Horror Nights houses. The rumble of “The Last of Us” returning for 2025 gained momentum in late 2024 but died away in early 2025.
However, the light rumor of a Halloween Horror Nights house based on the video game Fallout grew into a full-fledged rumor for this year. The key question about this rumored video game-based house was,” Would it be based on the game or the streaming TV show?” This question was a major one for “The Last of Us” in 2023. That eventually turned into the Halloween Horror Nights (HHN) houses on both coasts based on the video game.
Fallout: Will It Be Just Another Post-Apocalyptic House?
Post-apocalyptic horror at Halloween Horror Nights has become almost as familiar as a Blumhouse HHN house or a Universal Classic Monsters HHN house. With Fallout being a video game concept based on post-apocalyptic events, we should see radiation-created monsters in this Halloween Horror Nights house. Beyond that, it is hard to speculate how Universal Orlando might use this intellectual property.
The “Fallout” streaming television series received positive reviews. Universal Orlando Resort’s creative team should be able to utilize some aspects of horror from that show. However, the show was pretty violent, which may or may not be an aspect of the Halloween Horror Nights house.
“Fallout” During HHN Speculation Season

Horror Night Nightmares put out their first official speculation map in late March. The signature thumbs-up symbol on that map indicated a “Fallout” house. Sure, Horror Night Nightmares only speculates about the Halloween Horror Nights houses. They do not offer official information. Nevertheless, their information continues to be very reliable. The “Thumbs Up” symbol remained on the Horror Night Nightmares, leaving the “Thumbs Up” symbol of the speculation map version 2.0.

“Fallout” the Series

Amazon Prime Video’s “Fallout” TV series, released in April 2024, brings the iconic post-apocalyptic game franchise to the small screen with a fresh narrative and stunning world-building. Created by Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan, the minds behind Westworld, the series stays true to the spirit of the original games while introducing new characters and storylines that make it accessible to newcomers.
Set in a retro-futuristic America devastated by nuclear war, Fallout explores a dystopian landscape where survival, morality, and power intertwine. The story primarily follows Lucy, a Vault Dweller from the secure underground bunker known as Vault 33, as she ventures into the surface world for the first time. Her journey exposes her to the harsh realities of the Wasteland, including mutant creatures, ruthless raiders, and the enigmatic Brotherhood of Steel.
“Fallout” Positives for Halloween Horror Nights
One of the series’ standout aspects is its faithful recreation of the Fallout universe’s aesthetics—mid-century Americana clashing with gritty sci-fi technology. The production design captures the eerie charm of the games, from rusted power armor suits to decaying billboards and familiar locations like Super Duper Mart and Nuka-Cola vending machines. The use of practical effects and detailed sets enhances immersion and authenticity.
The show’s narrative cleverly balances dark humor and grim drama, keeping with the franchise’s unique tone. It explores complex themes such as class divide, technological dependence, and the consequences of human ambition. Walton Goggins delivers a compelling performance as The Ghoul, a mysterious gunslinger whose past slowly unravels, while Ella Purnell’s portrayal of Lucy brings emotional depth and resilience to the story.
While longtime fans will appreciate the numerous Easter eggs and lore references, the show also stands independently, offering a tight, well-paced story arc across its first season. Critics have praised the series for capturing Fallout’s essence without overly relying on nostalgia, a rare feat in video game adaptations.
In a media landscape saturated with reboots and adaptations, “Fallout” emerges as a high-quality series that respects its source material while boldly charting new territory. It’s a promising start to what could become a landmark franchise in sci-fi television. Whether you’re a seasoned Vault Dweller or a first-time visitor to the Wasteland, this show offers a gripping, radioactive ride worth taking. However, does it make a good Halloween Horror Nights house?
What Did Universal Say About This “Fallout” HHN House?
Universal officially announced the “Fallout” intellectual property coming to Halloween Horror Nights 2025. The official announcement information stated: “ For the first time ever, horror fans will step into the post-apocalyptic wasteland of Prime Video’s “Fallout,” in an all-new terrifying haunted house at Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights. The unimaginable terror becomes a reality starting Friday, August 29 at Universal Orlando Resort and Thursday, September 4 at Universal Studios Hollywood.
Based on the award-winning global video game franchise from Bethesda Game Studios, “Fallout” was a critically acclaimed hit with audiences worldwide when it debuted on Prime Video in 2024. The cinematic series is set in the year 2296, two hundred years after a nuclear war destroyed civilization. All that is left is an eradicated and highly violent hellscape known as The Wasteland crawling with mutated animals and creatures, while gentle citizens take refuge underground in luxury fallout shelters known as Vaults.
“Fallout” at Halloween Horror Nights Orlando and Hollywood
In this terrifying haunted house, fans will encounter iconic scenes and characters that will put them into the frightening action of the popular series. The journey begins beneath the surface in Vault 33, where guests follow vault-dweller Lucy MacLean as she escapes a bloody massacre, only to discover an evil hidden secret. From there, visitors venture to the surface, where they must dodge attacks from Scavengers and Raiders, desperate survivors who will do anything to remain alive, as well as mutated cockroaches known as RAD Roaches.
As guests travel through the hellish Wasteland, they will go through iconic locations like the Super Duper Mart and encounter The Ghoul, an ageless bounty hunter who has endured radiation exposure for centuries. Additionally, they will come face-to-face with a young squire named Maximus and gaze in awe at his T-60 armor. With frightful terrors at every turn of the eerily authentic haunted house, fans will question if they can ever escape the horrors of The Wasteland.

What Type of Halloween Horror Nights House Will “Fallout” Make?
While the idea of a post-apocalyptic landscape fits Halloween Horror Nights, will “Fallout” be scary? Season one of the show did involve scary overall ideas. However, it lacked scary monsters to deal with. Will Universal increase the monster count in the house? They probably must do that to make “Fallout” work at Halloween Horror Nights. Based on all the previous post-apocalyptic HHN houses, Universal has shown the ability to create those settings.
Now, in fairness, several irradiated animals would make good scares. People inside “Power Armor” could provide decent jump scares.
Other Concepts and Questions About “Fallout” Being a Part of Halloween Horror Nights

The “Fallout” series leads into many food and beverage ideas for Halloween Horror Nights. The creative food and beverage minds at Universal Orlando Resort could offer items like:
- Ant Meat
- Blanco Brand Mac & Cheese
- Deathclaw Egg Omelet
- Funnel Cake (Yes, this is really a food resource in the video game)
- Sugar Bombs
Will we get Nuka-Cola? What flavors will we get? Will it be alcoholic or non-alcoholic? What other food and beverage concepts will we get? In addition, will we visit Vault 33? Also, how will the Ghoul be used in the Halloween Horror Nights house?
For some questions, we must wait until Halloween Horror Nights begins in late August. For more theme park news and information, visit MSM News.
