The holiday season is about to get a whole lot louder at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! From November 4through January 6, The Electric Mayhem is putting its own spin on the season with Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets: Obligatory Holiday Overlay, a limited-time experience turning their already legendary concert into a festive celebration filled with seasonal tunes and new surprises.
The celebration begins before you even step inside G-Force Records. Festive music fills the courtyard surrounding the attraction’s iconic guitar marquee, setting the stage for a holiday concert that only The Electric Mayhem could deliver.
New Holiday Moments Backstage
Once inside G-Force Records, you’ll find Dr. Teeth, Animal, Floyd, Janice, Zoot, and Lips deep in rehearsals for their holiday spectacular. While the band puts the finishing touches on its seasonal set list, a few familiar Muppets friends stop by the studio to offer a helping hand… or at least try to.
Of course, this is The Electric Mayhem we’re talking about. As the countdown to showtime continues, the band’s holiday preparations don’t exactly go according to plan. But that’s all part of the fun when your headliners are known more for rocking out than sticking to a schedule.
You’ll be fully immersed in the story with the first-ever Audio-Animatronics figure of Scooter, brought to life using motion-capture technology of Scooter the Muppet (yes, the actual adorable Muppet you see in the photo above). By recording and tracking Scooter’s performance, Walt Disney Imagineering was able to build and program a figure that looks, moves, and emotes exactly like Scooter should, right down to the small details.
Joined by the finest audio engineers (all penguins, of course), Scooter is doing his best to convince The Electric Mayhem to stop jamming and get to their increasingly restless fans. But will it be enough to get the band across town and on stage in time?
Thanks to the newest technological advancements from Muppet Labs, we’ll board a super-powered vehicle in the alleyway just behind Studio C known as the Lengthy Immediate Motion Object (L.I.M.O.)!

We have a 2319—and a table for two, please! Disney is sharing a taste of the dining coming to Monstropolis at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 2027, including Harryhausen’s and Archie’s Scare Pig Pizza. With an eight-tentacled Audio-Animatronic sushi chef, monster-inspired ramen in development, and a real-world take on Blort, the culinary team is giving familiar flavors a wonderfully weird twist. Bring your appetite—and don’t be surprised if your dinner looks back at you!
Saving the galaxy calls for a great soundtrack—and a little holiday cheer! New holiday tracks are coming to Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, and I’ve been suggesting “Christmas Wrapping” since Cosmic first celebrated the holidays. Now, how cool would it be to add Run-DMC’s “Christmas in Hollis” to the mix? Consider this me officially willing that into future existence. Your move, Star-Lord!
A little extra room in the Disney budget may be in order. Walt Disney World is increasing prices on select single-day tickets and all four Annual Pass tiers, along with the highest prices for some Lightning Lane options.
