Minions & Monsters Peacock streaming starts Oct. 28 after a $523 million summer box office run. Here is what to know about the release and where to watch.
The Minions & Monsters Peacock release date is officially here, and it arrives a little sooner than a lot of us guessed. “Minions & Monsters” will stream on Peacock Oct. 28 after earning $523 million at the summer box office. That is two days ahead of the Oct. 30 date that several streaming predictions had penciled in, which makes it a rare release date that shows up early instead of running late. That is 119 days after the film opened in theaters on July 1. In Minion time, that is roughly one banana ripening cycle.

What is Minions & Monsters about?
If you skipped the theatrical run, here is the setup. The Minions accidentally land in Hollywood during the 1920s, right as silent movies give way to talkies. Two Minions, James and Henry, decide to make their own monster movie, and a mystical book helps them bring the creatures to life. Casting real monsters, as it turns out, goes about as well as you would expect. Critics were generally kind, and IGN called it the best Minions movie yet in an 8 out of 10 review.
Can you watch it before Oct. 28?
Yes, if you are willing to pay. Universal released the movie digitally on Aug. 11, well ahead of the subscription window. IGN listed a $19.99 rental and $29.99 purchase price at launch, while another guide listed a $24.99 rental on some storefronts, so prices vary by retailer. Physical copies followed on Sept. 8. If the kids(or Minion fan adults) are asking now, the digital store is available. If you can wait about a month, Peacock subscribers will not pay a separate rental fee.
Peacock plans and what else the Minions have there
The current price for Peacock Premium is $10.99 per month or $109.99 per year, with ads. Peacock also lists the original Minions (2015) and Despicable Me 2 among its Minions and Despicable Me titles, so there is a warm-up double feature ready to go. Prices and library titles change, so double-check the Peacock app before you subscribe just for this movie.
When will Minions & Monsters hit Netflix?
Do not cancel Peacock the second the credits roll, but do not plan to stay forever either. Because of Universal’s streaming deal with Netflix, the film is reported to stay on Peacock for the first four months of its pay TV window, move to Netflix for ten months, and then return to Peacock for four months. With an Oct. 28 start, that math points to a Netflix move around late February or early March 2027. Nobody has announced a Netflix date, so treat that as an estimate.
The Universal Orlando connection
Since Main Street Magic readers tend to take their Minions with a side of theme park, here is the local angle. Universal Orlando is deep into Halloween Horror Nights season, and a movie about Minions who accidentally unleash monsters is landing right at Halloween week. That timing is either a happy accident or the most on brand scheduling decision Universal has ever made.
