The Blumhouse Popcorn Bucket Van brings fog and lights to Regal’s 31 Screams on Screen series, arriving soon for $52.99. Regal has a new horror bucket lined up for October, and this one comes with its own fog machine. The Blumhouse Popcorn Bucket Van is headed to the chain’s stores to coincide with 31 Screams on Screen, Regal’s month-long horror screening series, and it might be the most gimmicky theater popcorn bucket of the whole Halloween season.

The bucket is listed at $52.99 on the Regal Store as “Coming Soon,” with participating theaters expected to carry it starting October 1. However, we suggest treating the exact on-sale date as a moving target until your local Regal actually has it behind the counter.

The van is a 75 oz popcorn bucket shaped like, well, a van, and it lights up and produces a fog effect, both powered by included AAA batteries. Regal’s product listing lists the dimensions asset last year for the 5 x 12 x 6 inches. It’s plastic, hand-wash only, and comes with a sticker sheet featuring artwork from Black Phone 2, M3GAN, Happy Death Day, The Purge: Election Year, and Other Mommy. Regal is capping purchases at three per customer, the same limit it put on last year’s Iron Lung bucket. As of this writing, the van looks like a Regal exclusive. It hasn’t turned up at AMC, Cinemark, or anywhere else that tracks these things, which tracks with how Regal has handled its last few Blumhouse-branded buckets.

Why a Van, Specifically

The shape isn’t random. Blumhouse’s fan newsletter is literally called The Van, and the studio leaned into that branding hard at its 15th anniversary photo ops at Universal CityWalk Orlando last fall, inviting fans to “get in the van” for photos. A fog-spewing, light-up van bucket is basically Blumhouse turning its own inside joke into a $52.99 collectible, and that’s a pretty fun bit of merch design.

The Blumhouse Popcorn Bucket Van Isn’t the Only Thing Worth Knowing About

31 Screams on Screen is the real headline here, and it’s a genuinely stacked lineup this year. Regal is running one horror movie a night all month in October, with $7.99 tickets, and this time the chain brought in outside curators. Directors James Wan, Nia DaCosta, and Curry Barker each picked a handful of personal favorites to slot into the schedule, alongside a broader lineup put together by Regal’s own film team. DaCosta’s picks lean toward the classics she says she never got to see on the big screen herself, including The Thing and the original Candyman.

Regal SVP Brooks LeBoeuf framed the series as a communal experience, saying the directors “answered the question every horror fan wants to ask” when picking their films. Still, the van bucket isn’t traveling alone, either. Regal is also selling a Jason Voorhees popcorn bucket and a Nightmare Before Christmas Santa Jack Skellington collectible alongside it this October. So, if you’re trying to build out a horror-bucket shelf, this is shaping up to be a good month to do it.

Should You Actually Buy It

If you’re the type who already owns Regal’s Lipstick-Face Demon bucket or last year’s Iron Lung, the van is an easy yes. It’s the same kind of over-the-top, mostly shelf-display novelty this category has leaned into for a couple of years now. If you want popcorn, the fog gimmick is fun exactly once, and then it’s a plastic van sitting on a shelf. Either way, buy it in person if you can. Regal marks these as final sale, and “the fog machine works” is the kind of thing worth confirming before you hand over $52.99. 31 Screams on Screen runs every night through Halloween at participating Regal locations, with full showtimes available on the Regal app and website.
