Mickey-Shaped Celebration Macaron Review: Sunshine Seasons at Epcot Food and Wine
We tried the Mickey Celebration Macaron at Sunshine Seasons during Epcot Food and Wine, including the sun and heat problem we ran into.
Sunshine Seasons inside The Land pavilion doesn’t usually get much attention during the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival, since it’s a year-round quick-service spot rather than one of the pop-up marketplaces. But for 2026, it’s hosting one of the festival’s cuter grab-and-go treats: the Mickey-Shaped Celebration Macaron ($6.29), a birthday-themed dessert that’s part of our ongoing coverage in the Epcot Food and Wine 2026 menus guide
Mickey Celebration Macaron: What It Is
The Mickey-Shaped Celebration Macaron is built from three individual macaron shells, two small ones for the ears and one larger shell for the head, sandwiched together to form the unmistakable silhouette. The shells are a bright pink, and Disney’s menu signage lists it under the birthday cake and cake batter funfetti umbrella that shows up across the parks whenever a milestone anniversary rolls around.
The head shell is piped with a swoop of white frosting and a scattering of rainbow sprinkles, and the whole thing is topped off with a small edible “candle” made from what tastes like a vanilla wafer cookie stick, itself dipped in frosting and more sprinkles. It’s a genuinely charming presentation, and it photographs well, which is presumably half the point during a festival where everyone’s holding up a phone before they take a bite.
Mickey Celebration Macaron: Flavors
Macaron shells are a finicky thing to get right at the volume a festival like this demands, and Sunshine Seasons’ version lands in an acceptable but unremarkable place. The shells themselves have the right chew on the outside with a slightly hollow, meringue-forward interior, and the funfetti filling brings a mild vanilla cake batter flavor with actual flecks of sprinkle mixed in. It reads more like a novelty vanilla frosting filling than a distinct funfetti flavor, which is fine.
The bigger issue we ran into had nothing to do with flavor. We picked ours up on a warm afternoon and walked it over toward World Showcase for photos, and by the time we sat down to actually eat it, the frosting swoop and candle topper had visibly softened and started to slide. Macarons are not built for Florida heat under the best of circumstances, and this one, sitting outside a shaded quick service window with a decorative frosting topper, is especially vulnerable. If you’re planning to grab one, eat it at Sunshine Seasons or nearby rather than carrying it across the park.
A Fine Snack
The Mickey-Shaped Celebration Macaron is a fine snack. It’s cute, it’s a reasonable size for the price relative to some of this year’s festival items, and the shape alone will get it onto plenty of Instagram grids. Still, the funfetti flavor doesn’t do much that a standard vanilla macaron wouldn’t. Also, the melting issue makes it a location-dependent purchase rather than something worth going out of your way for. If you’re already inside The Land pavilion, or riding Living with the Land or Soarin’ nearby, it’s a pleasant enough stop. We wouldn’t put it on a must-eat list for this year’s festival. This event runs through November 21 at Epcot.
