Mayor Winddancer Joins Zootopia: Better Zoogether! in Unexpected Disney World Upgrade
Disney World is upgrading Zootopia: Better Zoogether! at Animal Kingdom with a new Mayor Winddancer scene featuring Patrick Warburton. Better still, this update starts today!
Less than a year after its grand opening at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Zootopia: Better Zoogether! is already getting a fresh storytelling enhancement. Located inside the iconic Tree of Life Theater on Discovery Island, the 4D attraction replaced the long-running It’s Tough to Be a Bug! back in November 2025. Now, Walt Disney Imagineering and Walt Disney Animation Studios have teamed up once again to integrate brand-new scene elements into the production.
What’s New in the Zootopia: Better Zoogether! Attraction?
The updated show introduces Mayor Brian Winddancer, a breakout character from Zootopia 2 voiced by legendary actor Patrick Warburton.

Walt Disney World noted that guest feedback pointed toward minor adjustments that could make the overall narrative even more dynamic and engaging. Starting today, Wednesday, July 29th, the 4D show will feature enhanced storytelling, including a new preshow scene featuring Mayor Winddancer.
Rapid Evolution in Disney Parks
It is relatively rare for a major Walt Disney World 4D theater production to receive structural narrative updates within its first 12 months of operation. Still, in addition to Mayor Winddancer’s new scene, Zootopia: Better Zoogether! continues to feature:
- Judy Hopps & Nick Wilde navigating Zoogether Day festivities.
- An advanced Audio-Animatronics figure of Officer Benjamin Clawhauser inside the theater.
- Sensory 4D effects including scent, water spray, tactile theater seat reactions, and wind.
- A high-energy musical climax starring pop star Gazelle (Shakira).
