Firehouse Subs is officially expanding its hot sub sandwich kingdom. Following the successful launch of their Steak & Cheese Melt and the Chicken ‘N’ Cheddar Rancher, the firefighter-founded chain announced it is dropping two brand-new premium sandwiches nationwide: the Smokin’ Honey Chicken Melt and the Smokin’ Honey Steak Melt. The new additions will officially hit participating menus on Monday, July 6, 2026.
Firehouse Subs Smokin’ Honey Melts: Sweet Heat Meets Serious Protein
The driving force behind the new Firehouse Subs Smokin’ Honey Melts is an all-new, custom-crafted honey-chipotle sauce designed to strike a balance between sweet, upfront notes and a smoky, mild chipotle kick. Both sandwiches are built on Firehouse Subs’ signature top-sliced toasted rolls and feature:
- Extra melty provolone cheese
- Brown sugar caramelized onions
- Sautéed red and green bell peppers
Guests can customize their protein base with either sliced, white-meat grilled chicken breast (packing a hefty 55 grams of protein in a medium size) or flame-seared USDA Choice prime rib steak (coming in at 47 grams of protein).
“Guests fell in love with our Steak & Cheese Melt, and that told us they wanted more from this lineup,” said Carolina Berti, chief marketing officer of Firehouse Subs. “We built the Smokin’ Honey Melts around a new chipotle sauce we couldn’t stop tasting — smoky, a little sweet, with just a mild kick. And because we’re founded by firefighters, we hold ourselves to a higher standard. Both subs are delicious, they’re here, and we can’t wait for guests to try them.”
A New Limited-Time Dessert
Alongside the savory melts, Firehouse Subs is introducing a fresh treat for those with a sweet tooth: the Cookies & Crème Cookie. Baked fresh in-restaurant daily, this limited-time dessert features a blonde cookie base loaded with white crème chips and crunchy chocolate sandwich cookie pieces. It will be available while supplies last.
