We went to do a Universal Orlando Sausage Roll review at Universal Studios. Guests can find it at Leaky Cauldron or London Taxi Hut. We have pricing and taste details.

If you’re hunting for a quick, savory snack at Universal Studios Florida, there’s a newer menu item quietly gaining attention: the Universal Orlando Sausage Roll. Found at both The Leaky Cauldron and the nearby London Taxi Hut, this British-inspired handheld is a welcome addition to the Wizarding World’s lineup of hearty fare.

Two Locations, Two Very Different Price Points

London Taxi Hut

We opted to grab the Sausage Roll from the London Taxi Hut. Honestly, it’s hard to justify doing otherwise. At $13.99, it’s significantly cheaper than the $17.99 version inside the Leaky Cauldron. What is the main difference? The Leaky Cauldron version comes plated with fries, while the Taxi Hut keeps things simple and portable. Sure, the theming inside the Wizarding World of Harry Potter location deserves respect. Still, we opted to pass on fries with the Sausage Roll.

The London Taxi Hut is designed as a quick-service stand along the London waterfront, known for grab-and-go items like jacket potatoes and snacks. It makes an ideal stop when you don’t want to commit to a full sit-down meal.

Universal Orlando Sausage Roll: A Classic British Snack with Theme Park Flair

The sausage roll itself fits perfectly within the Wizarding World of Harry Potter’s British theming. Traditionally, a sausage roll is exactly what it sounds like: seasoned sausage wrapped in flaky pastry, and it pairs naturally with the pub-style menu found inside the Leaky Cauldron, which features dishes like fish & chips, bangers & mash and meat pies. Universal Orlando Resort has been steadily leaning into these authentic UK-inspired offerings in Diagon Alley, and this item feels like a natural extension of that menu philosophy. Sure, these quick-service menu items do not qualify as truly authentic. However, for USA theme park cuisine, the options are pretty good.

Taste & Portion Review

Universal Orlando sausage roll

This is very much a “what you see is what you get” item, but that’s not a bad thing. The pastry is golden and flaky, with a satisfying crunch on the outside that gives way to a warm, savory sausage filling. It’s not overly greasy, which is a win for a theme park snack, and the seasoning leans mild enough to appeal to a wide audience. It also offers a buttery interior. Now, this would not be overly buttery. Still, it presents enough to balance this savory snack.

Portion-wise, it lands squarely in snack territory. It’s filling enough to hold you over between meals, but not a full lunch, especially if you skip the fries by choosing the Taxi Hut version. The Universal Orlando Sausage Roll contains plenty of sausage, making it a good value overall, if anything is a good value at theme park pricing. Additionally, it could be cut in half or into thirds to share…if you do that sort of thing.

One concern, however, would be the overwhelming savory (salty) flavor of the Universal Orlando Sausage Roll. Although that should be expected, some guests will find it to be too much. For the record, there are brown mustard packets at the London Taxi Hut. While it may lower the “authentic” aspect of the Sausage Roll, it might reduce the robust savory flavor.

The Universal Orlando Sausage Roll may not be the flashiest item at Universal Orlando Resort, but it’s a solid addition to the park’s evolving food lineup. It delivers exactly what you expect: a warm, flaky, satisfying snack that fits the theme and doesn’t completely wreck your budget. In a park where dining can sometimes feel like an afterthought, this newer menu item stands out simply by being reliable, portable, and appropriately themed.
