Superman Experience Hollywood opens April 18 with immersive gameplay, 3D tech, and DC action. Step into the world of Superman and save Metropolis.

A brand-new, fully immersive DC attraction is about to land in Hollywood, and it’s bringing fans face-to-face with the Man of Steel himself. Announced by Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences in collaboration with DC Studios, Superman Experience: Defenders Unite will officially open on April 18, 2026 at Warner Bros. Studios Hollywood.
According to the official announcement, the attraction will combine immersive storytelling with next-generation technology to create a fully interactive superhero adventure. This walkthrough attraction promises to blur the line between theme park ride and live-action video game, combining cutting-edge tech with classic theme park storytelling.
Superman Experience Hollywood: A Walkthrough Attraction That Puts YOU in the Cape
Inspired by Superman (2025 film) from James Gunn, this experience drops guests directly into Superman’s world, beginning inside the iconic Fortress of Solitude. The original storyline was created exclusively for the attraction and draws heavily on the film’s tone and setting.
Guests are recruited by Superman and granted Kryptonian abilities to complete a mission that quickly escalates from training exercises into a full-scale battle against Darkseid. Throughout the experience, participants will simulate flying alongside Superman using motion capture and 3D technology, while also visiting locations like Kent Farm, where they’ll train with Krypto the Superdog. Real-time scoring adds a competitive layer, encouraging guests to work together as a team while trying to save Earth from destruction.
Tech Meets Theme Park Magic

“Defenders Unite” leans heavily into next-generation immersion, blending physical sets with digital enhancements to create a hybrid experience that feels both cinematic and interactive. Guests will wear active 3D glasses and engage with high-definition spatial audio while navigating real environments enhanced by projection and motion capture effects. The attraction also incorporates audio-animatronic figures, including a life-sized version of Superman’s Kryptonian robot companion, Gary (Robot #4), adding a tangible layer of realism to the futuristic setting.
“Superman Experience offers guests a unique experience to step into the world of DC’s storytelling in an incredibly fun and immersive way,” said Danny Kahn, vice president and general manager of Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood. “This new attraction unites Global Experiences, Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood, and DC Studios, so fans can create memories while celebrating the world’s greatest Super Hero.”
Fortress of Solitude: Games, Snacks, and Instagram Moments
The Fortress of Solitude serves as the central hub of the experience, functioning as more than just a pre-show area. Instead, it acts as a fully interactive environment where guests can engage with a variety of activities and challenges. Visitors will be able to participate in mini-games like playing catch with Krypto in the Doghouse of Solitude or working together in a two-player puzzle to activate the Phantom Zone Projector. As guests complete these activities, they contribute to powering up the Chaos Crystal, which in turn activates elements throughout the Fortress.
Beyond gameplay, the space also includes multiple photo opportunities designed for social media, along with themed food and beverage offerings available in the Fortress lounge. Guests can also browse a Daily Planet-inspired retail shop featuring exclusive merchandise, including a custom comic book titled Superman: Defenders Unite, written by Josh Trujillo with cover art by Bernard Chang.
How to Experience It
“Defenders Unite” will be housed inside Stage 5, a historic soundstage with a legacy that includes classic films and television productions such as the first season of Friends. This location has been retrofitted with modern technology to support Warner Bros.’ growing lineup of location-based entertainment experiences.
The Superman Experience Hollywood attraction officially opens on April 18, 2026, and requires a separate ticket, though guests visiting Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood can also purchase it as an add-on. Visitors will park at the Studio Tour Welcome Center and be transported via shuttle to Stage 5.
Superman Experience Hollywood: Why This Matters for Theme Park Fans
“Superman Experience: Defenders Unite” highlights a growing trend in the attractions industry, where interactive gameplay and physical environments are merging to create something entirely new. Rather than relying on traditional ride systems, this experience places guests directly into the story, giving them agency and influence over the outcome.
Superman Experience Hollywood also signals an evolution for Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood, which has historically focused on behind-the-scenes experiences. With this addition, the Studio Tour moves closer to competing with major theme park destinations by offering original, IP-driven attractions that go beyond passive viewing. As Warner Bros. Discovery continues to expand its portfolio of location-based entertainment, “Defenders Unite” could be a preview of what’s to come for DC-themed experiences around the world.
