The Three Broomsticks jacket potatoes at Universal’s Islands of Adventure are $11.99 and filling, but how do they compare to the ones at Universal Studios Florida?

If you find yourself wandering through The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade at Universal Islands of Adventure with a rumbling stomach and a crzving for a Butterbeer, you might be tempted by the hearty British fare inside Three Broomsticks. On a recent visit, dining with the crew from the UO Explorers Podcast (listen here: https://open.spotify.com/show/0XduLEALG7AwN4ukQ1HoC6), we set out to investigate one of the more budget-friendly options on the menu: the $11.99 jacket potatoes.
At the same price point as the popular versions over at Universal Studios Florida’s London Taxi Hut, expectations were… let’s say, magically high. Spoiler alert: these spuds cast a decent spell — but not a Patronus-level one.
The Three Broomsticks Jacket Potatoes We Tried

The Three Broomsticks jacket potatoes are technically listed under the “sides” section of the menu, but let’s be clear: these can absolutely function as a full meal.
Jacket Potato Loaded – $11.99

Topped with bacon, Cheddar cheese sauce, scallions, and sour cream.
This is your classic theme park baked potato glow-up. The portion size is generous, and it delivers exactly what you’d expect from a loaded potato. The bacon adds saltiness, the scallions offer a bit of freshness, and the sour cream balances the richness. However, we would have liked more sour cream. We found it buried underneath the other toppings

That said, the cheese sauce leaned more toward “stadium nacho pump” than the thicker, more flavorful cheese we’ve come to love at Universal Studios Florida. It’s not bad — just not mind-blowing. For our group (who may or may not rank jacket potatoes as a personality trait), this version didn’t quite measure up to the London Taxi Hut standard.
Verdict: A solid, filling option — but not a must-have.
Jacket Potato Shepherd’s Pie (Vegan) – $11.99

Topped with vegan meat, peas and carrots, and vegan mozzarella.
First, we love seeing more plant-based options expand across Universal Orlando menus. Having a vegan jacket potato available at Three Broomsticks is a win. However, this particular execution felt a bit… sparse.

While the vegan meat and vegetable mixture had reasonable flavor, the toppings were noticeably limited. For many bites, it functioned more like a well-prepared baked potato than a fully loaded shepherd’s pie experience. The vegan mozzarella didn’t add as much oomph as we hoped, and the overall presentation felt lighter than advertised. If you’re plant-based and looking for something more substantial, we strongly suggest opting for the entrée version of Vegan Shepherd’s Pie ($11.99), which delivers a more complete and satisfying experience.
Verdict: Appreciated, but underwhelming in topping-to-potato ratio.
Other Three Broomsticks Jacket Potatoes
In addition to the two we sampled, Three Broomsticks also offers:
- Jacket Potato Broccoli & Cheese
At $11.99 across the board, these are some of the more budget-friendly entrée-adjacent items in Hogsmeade — especially considering how filling they are.
How Mobile Order Table Delivery Works at Three Broomsticks

One of the biggest perks of dining at Three Broomsticks is its mobile order table delivery system. Guests can place their order through the Universal Orlando app, select a table once seated, and have their food brought directly to them. No hovering around the counter. Also, no balancing trays through crowded dining rooms. No sending one friend ahead to guard a table like it’s the Triwizard Cup.
It’s one of the smoother quick-service operations inside Universal Islands of Adventure and a huge time-saver during peak park hours. Annual passholder discounts do apply, which helps take a little sting out of Wizarding World of Harry Potter pricing.
About Three Broomsticks

Three Broomsticks is themed as a rustic Hogsmeade tavern straight out of the Harry Potter series. Expect high cathedral ceilings, wooden beams, hanging lanterns, and a cozy yet bustling atmosphere. The menu leans heavily into British comfort fare: fish and chips, shepherd’s pie, rotisserie chicken platters, and, of course, Butterbeer. It’s one of the most immersive quick-service restaurants in any Orlando theme park, and even when the food doesn’t fully enchant, the ambiance usually does.
Three Broomsticks Jacket Potatoes: Good, But Not the Chosen One

At $11.99, the Three Broomsticks jacket potatoes are a solid value for the portion size. They’re filling, reasonably priced (by theme park standards), and easy to share. However, if you’re specifically seeking the best jacket potato on Universal property, our group still gives the edge to the London Taxi Hut at Universal Studios Florida. The flavor profile, particularly the cheese, just hits differently there.
Still, if you’re exploring Hogsmeade and want something hearty without committing to a $20+ entrée, these potatoes are a perfectly acceptable choice. Just don’t expect them to defeat He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. Sure, they’re good and filling. Okay, they’re… Muggle-approved.
