We review the Universal Mardi Gras Crepe featuring ham, Brie, and berry gastrique at Central Park Crepes during Mardi Gras 2026.

Universal Orlando Mardi Gras and France Carnaval

Universal Orlando’s Mardi Gras is a glorious explosion of glitter, beads, and fried dough, but there is always that one moment of pause when the parade floats roll by. Amidst the jazz of New Orleans and the feathers of Brazil, we find… France. It’s a bit like inviting a world-class sommelier to a college kegger. While everyone else is shouting for plastic beads, the French influence seems to be standing in the corner, wondering if the champagne is properly chilled and if the baguette has the correct crust-to-crumb ratio.
In France, Carnaval is more than just a party; it’s a centuries-old tradition that varies widely by region. In Nice, they host the Bataille de Fleurs (Battle of Flowers), where they throw thousands of fresh lilies and roses from floats. It’s incredibly elegant, though a bit more “refined garden party” than “Universal Studios Florida street party.” Meanwhile, in Dunkerque, thousands of people dress in yellow raincoats and sing sea shanties while the mayor throws smoked herrings from a balcony. Yes, actual fish.
Universal’s version is much more “Parisian Chic” than “Flying Fish,” focusing on the French Quarter’s roots. It’s a cheeky nod to the fact that without the French, we wouldn’t have the “Vieux Carré” or the excuse to eat beignets for breakfast. So, while France might seem like the sophisticated cousin who showed up to a mud-wrestling match, their inclusion is a reminder that even the fanciest cultures know how to let loose—even if they do it with a bit more savoir-faire. Nonetheless, out of those traditions, Universal Orlando Mardi Gras guests can enjoy a French-inspired crepe through April 4.

Our Review of the Universal Orlando Mardi Gras Crepe

If there’s one thing Central Park Crepes does consistently well, it’s portion size. This Universal Orlando Mardi Gras Crepe is generously filled and easily qualifies as a full meal rather than a snack.
However… these crepes are made to order.
Translation: You’re going to wait.
While fresh preparation is always appreciated, the line can move slower than most hungry theme park guests would prefer. If your stomach is growling and the parade is starting soon, this may test your Mardi Gras spirit.
Flavor Breakdown of the Universal Mardi Gras Crepe

- Brie cheese is the dominant flavor. You absolutely need to like Brie to enjoy this.
- The sliced ham adds a savory backbone.
- The mustard cream sauce brings a tangy element.
- However, the berry gastrique gives a subtle sweetness that balances everything.
It’s a good execution of a French-style savory crepe at a theme park. We wanted it to be great — truly standout. Still, it lands firmly in the “good, not top-tier” category for 2026. Also, at $14.99, the price point feels a bit high. The portion helps justify it, but this isn’t the best value at the event.
French Blonde Cocktail

The France location also offers:
French Blonde
New Amsterdam® Gin, Lillet Blanc®, St-Germain® elderflower liqueur, grapefruit juice, simple syrup, and Fee Brothers® Lemon Bitters
- Krewe Cup – $16.00
- Krewe Cup Refill – $13.00
- 16 oz. Single Serve – $14.00
This cocktail is light, citrus-forward, and refreshing — arguably the more universally appealing option at this booth.

Pros and Cons of the Universal Mardi Gras Crepe

The Universal Orlando Mardi Gras Crepe from the France booth delivers:
- A generous portion
- Balanced sweet-and-savory flavors
- Fresh, made-to-order preparation
But also:
⏳ A longer wait than many guests will enjoy
💸 A slightly concerning price point
🧀 This crepe has a heavy reliance on Brie flavor
It’s good. It’s enjoyable. Nonetheless, the Universal Mardi Gras crepe is just not among the absolute best food options at Mardi Gras 2026. If you love Brie and don’t mind waiting for something freshly prepared, this crepe is worth trying. However, if efficiency is your strategy for conquering the festival booths, you may want to prioritize other items first.
