Walt Disney World fans have exciting news today. After a short closure for upgrades, Frozen Ever After, the boat ride in the Norway Pavilion at Epcot, is officially scheduled to reopen on Thursday, February 12, 2026. The attraction, which first thrilled guests when it opened in 2016, was temporarily closed on January 26, 2026, to undergo a significant refurbishment focused on upgrading its character figures.

What’s New on the Ride

Disney Imagineers are replacing the original Audio-Animatronics figures, which previously used projection-based facial technology, with new animatronics featuring physical faces and more expressive movement. These updated figures reflect the same next-generation technology fans have seen at World of Frozen in Hong Kong Disneyland and other recent Disney attractions.

Guests can expect:

  • More lifelike character expressions
  • Smoother movement from the Audio-Animatronics
  • A refreshed presentation of the Frozen story

These changes aim to bring the ride even closer to the beloved look and feel of the Frozen films.

Disney’s official park calendar now lists operating hours for the attraction beginning that day, confirming the updated ride will be available for guests throughout the park’s regular schedule.

Why This Matters

Frozen Ever After remains one of Epcot’s most popular rides, especially for families and fans of the Frozen franchise. Its closure earlier this year sparked plenty of conversation among theme park-goers about missing favorite experiences. Still, the enhanced animatronics and upgrades have many visitors excited to return to Arendelle.

Whether you’re planning a trip this winter or spring, mark your calendars for February 12th. That’s when you’ll be able to board your boat and journey back through Arendelle’s icy fjords with updated, expressive characters waiting to sing “Let It Go” again.
