If you have a trip planned to Universal Orlando this winter, take note! Starting February 1, 2026, Universal is shaking up the lineup for early admission to the Universal Epic Universe. For the first time since the park’s grand opening, the “portals” available for early entry are shifting, meaning your rope-drop strategy needs a total overhaul.
Universal Epic Universe Early Admission: What’s Changing in February 2026?
Since the park opened in May 2025, early entry was largely focused on Celestial Park, Super Nintendo World, and Dark Universe. However, for the month of February, Universal is swapping out the monsters for magic and dragons.
Effective February 1 – March 31, 2026, Early Park Admission will grant access to:
- The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic (New for EPA!)
- How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk (New for EPA!)
- Super Nintendo World
Notably, Dark Universe and the major attractions in Celestial Park (like Stardust Racers) are being removed from the early entry list. This is a massive shift, as it marks the first time hotel guests can officially enter the British Ministry of Magic before the general public.
The “Portal” Strategy: How It Works
Unlike the other Universal Orlando Resort theme parks, where everyone funnels to one or two rides, Epic Universe is unique. All guests are typically allowed into Celestial Park at the start of the early entry hour. However, team members stationed at the “Portals” (the themed entrances to each land) will check for valid hotel keys or credentials. If you don’t have Universal Epic Universe Early Admission, you’ll be held in Celestial Park until the official park opening time, while hotel guests disappear into the worlds of Mario, Harry Potter, and Hiccup.
