Strawberry Bun Epcot offers a pink holiday bao with sweet strawberry cream, a light coconut drizzle, and mixed flavors at the Japan pavilion.

Strawberry Bun Epcot

The Holiday Kitchen – Shi Wasu in the Japan pavilion is once again serving up festive treats, and one of the most eye-catching this season is the Strawberry Bun Epcot dessert. This soft pink bao, filled with creamy strawberry goodness and topped with a whisper of coconut sauce, is priced at $7.95 and stands out as one of the more visually delightful holiday bites in World Showcase. We stopped by to see whether this pastel treat tastes as magical as it looks. This Epcot Festival of the Holidays treat will be around through December 30, 2025.

Strawberry Bun Epcot First Impressions

Shi Wasu Holiday Kitchen Epcot

The Strawberry Bun Epcot dessert looks ready for its own photo shoot. With its rosy coloring and soft appearance, it immediately grabs your attention. We did notice the bao was thinner than expected, giving it a slightly different textural feel than some of the fluffier dessert buns Epcot has offered in previous seasons.

One practical perk: this treat is ready to go the moment you order, making it an easy stop for guests hopping from booth to booth. Of course, that could be seen as a negative since guests will not know how long the Strawberry Bun Epcot sells has been waiting to be purchased.

Flavor & Texture

Strawberry Bun Epcot

If you’re chasing that nostalgic strawberry flavor, think strawberry milk, pink Pocky, or classic candy-shop sweetness. The Strawberry Bun Epcot experience delivers. The filling leans into that “good fake strawberry flavor,” the kind that sparks memories instead of tasting artificial in a disappointing way.

Still, the most notable element is the temperature contrast. The bun is cool, almost chilled, while the strawberry filling is noticeably warmer. It’s an unexpected combination that may catch you off guard during the first bite. It doesn’t hurt the dish, but it does create a moment where you’re trying to figure out which part forgot to check in with the other.

Coconut Sauce Check-In

The dessert comes with a light coconut sauce, though its impact is minimal. The strawberry filling completely dominates the flavor profile, leaving the coconut drizzle more decorative than functional. It doesn’t clash with anything, but it also doesn’t enhance the treat.

Strawberry Bun Epcot Thoughts

Strawberry Bun Epcot

The Strawberry Bun Epcot treat is a decent holiday dessert and a fun pick for anyone who loves strawberry flavors and adorable presentation. It lands squarely in the middle of this year’s seasonal offerings: we’ve seen better, we’ve seen worse, and this one comfortably occupies the space in between.

At $7.95, you’re paying for the novelty as much as the flavor, but that’s part of the charm of festival snacking at Epcot.

👍 Pros

  • Lovely pink presentation and Instagram-friendly appearance
  • Nostalgic, sweet strawberry flavor
  • Filling served warm and creamy
  • Ready immediately upon ordering

👎 Cons

  • Temperature mismatch between bun and filling
  • Coconut sauce doesn’t add much
  • Bao is thinner than expected
  • Slightly pricey for what you get
