Warner Bros. is in talks to bring DC Comics Universal attractions to Universal theme parks, potentially adding new superhero rides and immersive lands.

Reports are swirling across the industry this week as Warner Bros. Discovery has entered discussions that could bring DC Comics Universal attractions to Universal theme parks around the world. If the deal moves forward, it would mark one of the biggest superhero shakeups in theme-park history.
According to early reporting, Warner Bros. Discovery is exploring broad licensing agreements that would allow Universal Destinations & Experiences to develop new rides, themed lands, restaurants, and immersive environments based on iconic DC characters like Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and the Justice League. The talks are described as “active” and potentially far-reaching.
Why These DC–Universal Talks Matter
Universal has proven its ability to take outside intellectual property and turn it into blockbuster attractions. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and and Nintendo-themed experiences worldwide show how potent the company’s creative teams can be when paired with major IP. A DC Comics Universal collaboration could be equally transformative.
For Warner Bros. Discovery, this would expand the reach of its characters far beyond existing licensing arrangements. While Six Flags currently operates DC-themed attractions at its parks, a partnership with Universal would deliver a new level of immersive design, storytelling, and cutting-edge ride technology.

Industry watchers are buzzing about multiple possibilities:
Universal Orlando Resort
With Epic Universe opening soon, Universal may be looking ahead to its next major expansion. A themed land inspired by Gotham City or Metropolis could be a natural fit, especially as competition between Orlando’s parks intensifies.
International Universal Parks
Universal Studios Japan, Beijing, and Singapore are all strong candidates for new DC-themed areas, each with unique demographic appeal and available expansion space.
Potential New Mega-Projects
Rumors continue about major new parks in regions like the Middle East. A massive, hero-packed DC land would be an easy anchor for a new resort.
What About the Marvel IP at Universal Islands of Adventure?

Currently, Marvel IP has an entire land at Universal Islands of Adventure. Would this potential deal mean the end of the awkward custody battle between Disney and Universal about the Marvel theme park rights? Would Islands of Adventure get the original planned DC attractions in what is currently Marvel Super Hero Island? At this time, we know very little. Does this mean the Marvel contract which dramatically limits Walt Disney World’s use of Marvel characters would end?
Marvel Super Hero Island at Universal’s Islands of Adventure is a brightly-colored, stylized comic book metropolis. It is home to some of Orlando’s most thrilling rides: the launched Incredible Hulk Coaster and the groundbreaking 3D dark ride, The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man.
The land also features the vertical drop tower Doctor Doom’s Fearfall and the spinning flat ride Storm Force Accelatron. Guests can meet classic comic versions of Captain America, Spider-Man, and X-Men characters. Its existence is due to a unique, pre-Disney contract, making it the only place on the East Coast where you can find these specific Marvel attractions.
DC Comics Universal: What’s Next?
No official announcements have been made yet, but analysts believe that if Warner Bros. and Universal strike a deal, the first projects could be revealed within the next few years. With new theme-park expansion cycles already underway around the world, the timing may be ideal.
One thing’s certain: if Batman, Superman, and the rest of the Justice League take flight at Universal, it would change the global theme-park landscape for decades. With Netflix buying Warner Bros. Discovery, anything could happen!
