Our review of the new Lemon Pepper Chicken Strips at Pinocchio Village Haus, Magic Kingdom. Flavorful but uneven—worth the $2 upcharge?

Pinocchio VillaGE hAUS

Ah, Pinocchio Village Haus. The Magic Kingdom’s charmingly inconsistent quick service spot where the ceilings are tall, a small world is nearby, the murals are whimsical… and the food… well, let’s just say it’s not why you’re here. Still, we ventured into any way for the new Lemon Pepper-Parmesan Chicken Strips, which arrived on October 8 alongside Walt Disney World’s parade of “sauced” chicken strips.

Lemon Pepper Chicken Strips Review

Lemon Pepper Chicken Strips

For $12.99, you get four chicken strips and a side of fries. This price is $2 more than the standard strips. The promise? A zesty Lemon Pepper-Parmesan topping. The reality? Only half your chicken sees any of that topping. The other half? Just plain chicken strips, staring back at you like Pinocchio himself after a long day of lying: “Did you really expect this?”

Lemon Pepper Chicken Strips

Flavor-wise, there’s a decent punch from the lemon-pepper-Parmesan, but it’s wildly inconsistent from strip to strip. Want to dip your lemon pepper chicken strips in sauce? You might have a fight on your hands because half the strips are basically bare. Also, it is tough to keep the toppings on the chicken strips. It’s a nice idea in theory. Still, the execution falls short, much like the Village Haus’s reputation for actually being a “great” quick service spot.

Lemon Pepper Chicken Strips

In short: if you’re hunting for consistently sauced, flavorful chicken strips, skip these and stick with the standard option. These might make for a quirky Instagram pic, but your taste buds might file a formal complaint.

Bottom line: Creative concept. Inconsistent execution. Not worth the $2 upcharge.

The menu generally offers Italian-American fare, primarily specializing in flatbreads, along with salads and chicken strips. Also, a unique feature of the restaurant is the seating area known as the Monstro Room (or similar areas), which provides a view of the boats loading for the “it’s a small world” attraction, allowing guests to wave to passengers as they pass. With ample indoor seating and a convenient location, it serves as a popular and charming spot for a quick lunch or dinner.
