From the signature Clothesline Bacon to the Molten Lava Cake, American Kitchen Bar & Grill delivers flavor and flair just steps from Disney Springs.

Finding a relaxed, high-quality meal near Disney Springs can feel like a quest all its own. Thankfully, American Kitchen Bar & Grill at the Renaissance Orlando (formerly The B Resort) near Disney Springs offers a refreshing alternative. This stylish yet approachable restaurant serves creative takes on American comfort food without the hassle of long waits or impossible reservations.
We visited on a Thursday evening and had no trouble getting a table. This sets this location apart from most Disney Springs table service restaurants. With a polished atmosphere, a well-rounded menu, and attentive service, American Kitchen Bar & Grill is an underrated choice for visitors looking for a peaceful dining experience just minutes from the magic. Of course, who does not enjoy dining in at a table service restaurant with a full-size truck in the dining area.

Setting the Scene

Located inside the Renaissance Orlando, American Kitchen Bar & Grill combines modern design with a warm, welcoming feel. While the restaurant doesn’t feature an open kitchen concept, it creates a cozy yet refined dining atmosphere with wood accents, soft lighting, and a well-appointed bar. The hotel itself is now cashless, so guests will need to use a card or mobile payment options. It’s a small but helpful detail to know before you go.
Service and Disney Perks
Our server welcomed us promptly and shared details about the Walt Disney World Annual Passholder discount available at the restaurant, a free appetizer when you purchase two entrées. We didn’t qualify on this visit because we ordered only one main course, but it’s a nice perk for those dining as a pair or family. However, we do not know if this perk will extend into 2026.
Even without the discount, the prices at American Kitchen Bar & Grill are reasonable for the quality and presentation. Our server was attentive, friendly, and quick with refills and menu recommendations, making for a smooth, comfortable dining experience from start to finish.
Menu Overview at American Kitchen Bar & Grill

The menu at American Kitchen Bar & Grill is creative without being overcomplicated. Divided into categories like Share + Discover, Garden + Greens, Handhelds, and Main Dishes, the offerings range from playful small plates to hearty entrées.
Starters include the popular AK Smoked Bacon “Clothesline”, Pork Belly Bao Buns, and AK Frita Meatballs, while main courses feature dishes such as Coffee-Crusted Flat Iron Steak, Crispy Chicken Gnocchi Mac & Cheese, and Pan-Seared Salmon. Prices typically run from the mid-teens for appetizers to around $40 for premium entrées like steak or pork chop. Compared to many nearby restaurants, it’s a fair balance of cost and culinary ambition.
Drinks and First Impressions

American Kitchen Bar & Grill offers a thoughtful beverage program featuring a selection of wines, Florida craft beers, and craft cocktails such as the Smoked Old Fashioned and Toasted Coconut Espresso Martini. We kept it simple with soft drinks, though it’s worth noting the restaurant carries Diet Coke but not Coke Zero Sugar. Our beverages arrived quickly, and the pacing of service throughout our meal was just right, relaxed yet efficient.
Appetizer: AK Smoked Bacon “Clothesline”

We started our meal with the restaurant’s signature appetizer, the AK Smoked Bacon “Clothesline” ($17). This visually striking dish features Nueske’s smoked bacon hung on a miniature clothesline, lightly torched and glazed with Tennessee whiskey-spiced sauce, and served with horseradish mustard aioli.

It’s a fun presentation that feels special without being gimmicky, a perfect conversation starter. The first few bites leaned more toward sweet than smoky, but as we continued, the smoky flavor deepened, offering a more balanced and satisfying finish. The bacon was crisp, thick-cut, and well-rendered, and the aioli provided just enough bite to balance the glaze. The Clothesline Bacon is a must-try appetizer for first-time visitors to American Kitchen Bar & Grill.

Entrée: Crispy Chicken Sandwich

For our main course, we ordered the Crispy Chicken Sandwich ($18), served with a choice of fries or Caesar salad. We opted for the salad, which turned out to be an excellent choice. It offered fresh greens, flavorful dressing, and a few unique touches of cheese that elevated it beyond a standard side.

The sandwich itself featured a large, golden-fried chicken breast drizzled with local honey glaze and topped with BBQ aioli, lettuce, and tomato. The flavor combination hit the sweet-and-savory balance perfectly in the first few bites. As we continued, the honey flavor faded slightly, letting the crispy coating shine. The batter is thick and crunchy. This may be heavy for some, but satisfying and well-seasoned. It’s also a messy sandwich, the kind that requires a few extra napkins but rewards you with big flavor. For both size and quality, the Crispy Chicken Sandwich is an excellent value and a standout item on the American Kitchen Bar & Grill menu.
Dessert: Molten Lava Cake

We wrapped up our meal with the Molten Lava Cake ($12). While our main dishes came out fairly quickly, this dessert took longer than expected. Still, it was worth the wait. The cake arrived warm, with a rich chocolate aroma and a perfectly molten center that flowed when cut. The texture was indulgent without being overly sweet, and the presentation was elegant in its simplicity. It’s clear this dessert is baked to order rather than pre-made, which makes a big difference. It’s an ideal way to end a meal here, classic, comforting, and deeply satisfying.

Additional Menu Highlights
Though we didn’t try them this visit, several other items caught our attention for next time. The Crispy Chicken Gnocchi Mac & Cheese with smoked Gouda and Parmesan foam sounds like a clever spin on a comfort-food favorite. Seafood lovers might gravitate toward the Pan-Seared Salmon with papaya avocado chutney or the Seafood Linguine loaded with clams, mussels, prawns, and scallops in a saffron sauce.
On weekends, American Kitchen Bar & Grill also offers a breakfast buffet. This makes a convenient spot for hotel guests and locals alike looking to fuel up before a day at the parks or Disney Springs.
