From twisted spiders to haunted spas, our Howl-O-Scream Orlando 2025 house rankings cover every maze so you know what to expect before you scream.

Howl-O-Scream has returned to Orlando with a chilling new lineup that blends terrifying new houses, sinister scare zones, and live entertainment. Each year, this event transforms the park into a fully immersive horror experience, filled with roaming scare actors, themed bars, and surprises lurking in the shadows. The 2025 season brought three new haunted houses alongside the return of two favorites, giving fans plenty of reasons to scream.
For first-time visitors, Howl-O-Scream differs from other Halloween events in that it leans heavily into adult-focused scares and atmosphere. There are roaming creatures outside the houses, bars with specialty cocktails, and plenty of “in-your-face” scares that don’t let up once you leave a haunted maze. It’s a full-night experience where no corner of the park feels safe.
Invite for Howl-O-Scream Orlando 2025

SeaWorld Orlando invited us out for the opening night of Howl-O-Scream Orlando. This marks the fifth year the event has taken place at SeaWorld Orlando. We thought last year’s Howl-O-Scream Orlando was the best yet. After finishing opening night, we felt that this year was good. Still, we enjoyed last year more. In fairness, there were some external factors that you may not have experienced, which added to our perspective.
We kicked off our spooky evening at Howl O Scream Orlando 2025 with media check-in between 6:00 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. at the event entrance. Even before the gates officially opened, the atmosphere buzzed with energy as fog rolled through the pathways, sinister music pulsed in the distance, and costumed scare actors lurked just beyond the shadows. The anticipation was palpable, and it set the stage for a night of frights, food, and entertainment.
Ashes of the Forgotten Scare Zone

Our first stop was Ashes of the Forgotten (Zone A), which opened at 6:00 p.m.. When you enter the event at the Howl-O-Scream entrance (not the main gate), you will quickly find yourself in this scare zone. It traditionally features scare actors, dancers and loud music. Guests will usually find themselves exiting into this scare zone after completing one of the houses.

This scare zone immediately pulled us into the world of Howl O Scream Orlando 2025 with eerie set design, unsettling lighting, and roaming creatures ready to stalk unsuspecting guests. Between dodging scare actors, we explored the Shop of Horrors filled with creepy merchandise and explored the nearby Scorchline Bar to start of the night.
Havoc, the Icon of Howl-O-Scream Orlando 2025

At 7:00 p.m., the event officially came alive with the Opening Moment led by the brand new icon Havoc. The theatrical start drew a crowd as Havoc unleashed chaos to mark the beginning of the evening. It was a chilling introduction that perfectly set the tone for everything that was to follow.
From there, we were invited to experience Howl O Scream Orlando 2025 just like any other guest. We made our way through haunted houses, scare zones, live shows, and themed food booths. The freedom to roam and explore gave the evening a genuine feel as though we were part of the same terrifying adventure as everyone else. Since our group purchased the Unlimited Scream Ticket, which gives us access to this after-hours event every night it happens this year.
What followed was a night filled with screams, laughter, and plenty of surprises. With five haunted houses to conquer, live entertainment to enjoy, and specialty food and drinks to sample, there was no shortage of ways to immerse ourselves in SeaWorld Orlando’s signature Halloween event. Howl-O-Scream Orlando 2025 House Rankings

This year’s houses include The Rave Yard, Collector’s Curse, Widow’s Nest, Farm 51, and Water’s Edge Wellness Center. We toured them all, and while each had its moments, our group agreed on a clear ranking from weakest to strongest.
House ranking can be subjective. However, we have tried to consider what most guests will think about the houses, not necessarily what we thought. In fairness, we would have placed one of the returning houses higher in this list if this were just a personal house ranking.
5. The Rave Yard

A clever play on words mixing “graveyard” and “rave yard,” this new house had plenty of potential but didn’t quite hit the mark. The Rave Yard concept, a haunted rave of the damned inside a cemetery, is a clever idea on paper, but the execution struggled. The neon aesthetic clashed with set pieces that often looked unfinished, and its placement between a festival booth area and Expedition Odyssey limited the buildup. We wanted this house to create a more immersive atmosphere and minimize interruptions to convey the idea of a party. Still, that fails to come through effectively. With more polish in the future, The Rave Yard could shine.
Additionally, this house faces another weakness. A significant portion of the house exists outdoors. This graveyard setting will not go well in the rain for spooky fans.
4. Water’s Edge Wellness Center

Back again for another year, Water’s Edge Wellness Center is still an unsettling trip through a “spa” where treatments go horribly wrong. Guests receive promises of peace and relaxation, but instead find themselves trapped in a nightmarish wellness retreat. While the creepy staff and twisted procedures landed some solid scares, the house felt a little too familiar compared to the newer offerings. It’s still fun, but it didn’t feel as fresh this season.
Although we believe a few upgrades were made to this house, it still lacks something to make it a top Howl-O-Scream 2025 house. The storyline should be more straightforward. Also, some characters (scare actors) need more space to perform.
3. Farm 51

The returning Howl-O-Scream Orlando 2025 house, Farm 51, remains a crowd favorite with its mix of rural horror and twisted experiments. The setting feels chaotic in all the right ways, with mutated farmhands and grotesque surprises lurking in every corner. Howl-O-Scream fans love that this house empties into the Space Gate themed bar area.

While it’s a returning house, it still feels strong thanks to clever scares and high energy. Farm 51 delivered consistent frights and atmosphere, keeping it solidly in the middle of our rankings. This house does suffer from using significant outdoor space, leading to potential weather concerns and scarce elements that take longer than most to reset. However, if you enjoy a country theme with aliens taking over, Farm 51 is for you!
2. Widow’s Nest

New for 2025, Widow’s Nest quickly spun its way toward the top of our list. This creepy, spider-infested lair is filled with intricate set design and a strong sense of dread. The theming is tight and the pacing ensures that arachnophobes won’t have a chance to breathe. We were impressed with how immersive it felt from beginning to end, making it a standout addition to the event.

The lighting of the Widow’s Nest house hinders the effort that Howl-O-Scream Orlando put into this house. With a new house location compared to last year, this house has plenty of potential to creep people out this year and probably next year, too.
1. The Collector’s Curse

Our top pick of the year was The Collector’s Curse. This house combined storytelling, atmosphere, and scares into a seamless experience. The concept of a sinister collection that draws people in via a curse gave designers plenty of room to play. We expect good things from this house based on the design team’s positivity about it at a Spooky Empire panel.

This haunted house features creepy artifacts, spinning elements, and a few unexpected scares that came from multiple angles. We were drawn into the story as soon as we entered the building. It was the most polished and balanced of the five, and it felt like a true headliner. While we miss the house that was in this location last year, Delireum 666, The Collector’s Curse gives fans a decent storyline to enjoy.
Tips for Visiting Howl-O-Scream Orlando 2025
1. Arrive Early
The event can get crowded, especially on Saturdays. Arriving at or before opening gives you the best chance to experience the houses with shorter waits.
2. Prioritize the Headliners
If you want to hit the best houses first, head straight for The Collector’s Curse and Widow’s Nest. These drew some of the longest lines during our visit and were worth the wait.
3. Save The Rave Yard for Later
Since The Rave Yard is more of a “fun” house than a terrifying one, it’s best tackled later in the evening when lines for other houses grow longer.
4. Don’t Skip the Bars and Scare Zones
Howl-O-Scream is known for its themed bars and roaming monsters. Take time to explore the scare zones, grab a specialty cocktail, and enjoy the atmosphere between houses.
5. Go on a Weeknight if Possible
Crowds are typically lighter on Thursdays and Sundays, which means shorter waits and more chances to revisit your favorite houses. However, please keep in mind that the event mostly runs on Fridays and Saturdays.
6. Expect No Safe Zones
Unlike family-friendly events, there are no “scare-free” areas here. Monsters can appear anywhere, so be ready for surprise scares even outside the houses.
7. Wear Comfortable Shoes
You’ll be walking a lot. Between houses, scare zones, and shows, comfortable footwear makes a big difference in enjoying the night.
8. Consider Multiple Visits
With five houses, multiple scare zones, shows, and bars, it’s tough to see everything in one night. If you’re a horror fan, more than one visit helps you catch all the details.Howl-O-Scream Orlando 2025.
Howl-O-Scream Orlando 2025 Final Scare
Overall, Howl-O-Scream Orlando 2025 delivered a potent mix of new concepts and returning nightmares. While The Rave Yard didn’t quite live up to expectations, The Collector’s Curse and Widow’s Nest proved that the creative team is still capable of crafting quality houses. Between the haunted houses, scare zones, and themed bars, this event remains a must-do for horror fans who want an edgier alternative to other Orlando Halloween offerings.
