We reviewed the Bourbon Brown Sugar Sandwich at Chicken Guy! Disney Springs. Find out if this Guy Fieri creation truly delivers “off the chain” flavor.

Chicken Guy! Disney Springs

When you roll up to Chicken Guy! at Disney Springs, you’re stepping straight into Flavortown, or at least that’s the promise. This is Guy Fieri’s quick-service temple to all things chicken, where the menu comes packed with sauces, crispy tenders, and the occasional culinary haymaker meant to take you straight to “off the chain” status.

So naturally, we had to test out the Bourbon Brown Sugar BBQ Sandwich ($9.99). This sandwich sounds like Guy scribbled it on a napkin at 2 a.m. and shouted, Shut the front door, this is money!

Ordering: Mobile Mayhem in the Mayor’s Town

We bravely dove into the Chicken Guy mobile app, which has a track record shakier than a deep fryer on roller skates. To its credit, the system promised an ASAP pickup in about ten minutes. That’s faster than Earl of Sandwich, but still left us milling around in the controlled chaos that is Chicken Guy at 2:30 p.m.

Chicken Guy! Disney Springs

Inside, the place was jumpin’ joints of Flavortown. Chicken Guy! was loud, crowded, and with staff hollering names like it was the world’s most high-stakes bingo hall. The cast members are clearly working harder than Guy’s frosted tips on a humid Florida day, so pro tip: always be kind to them.

Also, mobile pickup? Same line as everyone else. Translation: you’ve gotta channel your inner Guy and be “bomb-dot-com brave” if you want your food before it’s cold.

The Sandwich: Bourbon Brown Sugar Sandwich

Bourbon Brown Sugar Sandwich

This beast comes with pepper jack cheese, bourbon brown sugar BBQ sauce, special sauce, slaw, pickles, and some BBQ kettle chips. We opted for grilled chicken over fried (trying to keep our playing weight respectable).

First impressions of Bourbon Brown Sugar Sandwich at Chicken Guy! Disney Springs

Bourbon Brown Sugar Sandwich
  • This sandwich is messy, like grab extra napkins and maybe a bib messy. By the end, we were finishing it off with a fork.
  • The slaw adds crunch and a fresh kick. Big win.
  • The BBQ sauce is sweet, a little sticky, and flavorful, but don’t expect bourbon-barrel magic. It’s more family-friendly PG-13 bourbon than straight Kentucky hug.
  • That pepper jack? About as spicy as Guy’s bowling shirts are subtle. In other words… not at all.

Fries, Sauce, and the Flavortown Factor

Bourbon Brown Sugar Sandwich

The fries were seasoned better than on our past trips. That’s a win in our book. Still, here’s the bummer: Chicken Guy used to boast 20 sauces. Now, the lineup feels trimmed down, which makes dipping less of a flavor explosion and more of a one-way ticket to Blandville.”

Still, the price point here is strong for Disney Springs. Sandwich + fries = around $14 with tax. That’s a deal in a place where most meals can feel like you’re taking out a small loan.

Bourbon Brown Sugar Sandwich: Is It Off the Chain?

Bourbon Brown Sugar Sandwich

To quote the Mayor of Flavortown himself: You can put that on a flip-flop and it’d taste good.” Unfortunately, this particular sandwich didn’t quite stick the landing. It’s good, it’s filling, and it’s decently priced, but compared to chains like Cane’s or PDQ, the flavor doesn’t exactly make you want to stand up and yell Winner, winner, chicken dinner!

Would we recommend it? Sure, if you’re already at Disney Springs, craving chicken, and want a Guy Fieri experience at a friendly price. Just don’t expect to find the gates of Flavortown swinging wide open. Instead, this sandwich sits somewhere in the middle: not a fiery “off the chain” explosion, but not a clucker either. Let’s call it moderately linked.”

Guy Fieri Catchphrase Scorecard:

  • “Shut the front door!” ✅
  • “This is money!” ✅
  • “Bomb-dot-com tasty” ✅
  • “Winner, winner, chicken dinner!” ✅
  • “Off the chain?” ❌ (sorry Guy, not this time)
