We review the popular Kobe Beef Burger at Yak & Yeti Restaurant in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Is it still one of the best Disney World burgers, or has it lost its magic?

For years, the Kobe Beef Burger at Yak & Yeti Restaurant held legendary status at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Many Disney fans ranked it among the very best burgers at Walt Disney World. Still, with the arrival of newer heavy hitters like the Tiffins Signature Burger and the Wayfinder Burger, does Yak & Yeti’s Kobe Beef Burger deserve its place on the Disney burger throne?
Let’s dig in (literally) to see if this burger is still worth ordering on your next trip to Animal Kingdom.
A Quick Look at Yak & Yeti Restaurant

Located in the Asia section of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Yak & Yeti Restaurant is not your average theme park eatery. Designed as a centuries-old Nepalese inn, the space is filled with intricate carvings, Southeast Asian artifacts, and cultural relics that make you feel like you’ve stumbled into a well-traveled explorer’s hideaway.

It’s important to note: the Yak & Yeti name is on two dining options at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The table-service Yak & Yeti Restaurant (the star of our review) and a also separate quick-service window nearby. Don’t mix them up when booking your meal!
Owned and operated by Landry’s Inc., the restaurant offers a broad pan-Asian menu with dishes like Ahi Tuna Nachos, Pork Pot Stickers, Honey Chicken, and Crispy Duck. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are also available, along with cocktails, sake, and Asian beers. Reservations are highly recommended. Additionally, if you’re a member of Landry’s Select Club, you can often snag priority seating, even without a reservation.
The Kobe Beef Burger: Presentation vs. Flavor

The Yak & Yeti menu describes its signature burger as a grilled American Kobe beef burger topped with either shiitake mushroom & scallion compote or Asian slaw, served with sesame-soy mayonnaise and fries. The price is $24.99, with discounts available for Annual Passholders.
On our visit, the burger presentation was impressive. It comes complete with a steak knife for those who prefer the fork-and-knife method. The patty itself was also cooked well and clearly of high quality. The mayo sauce paired nicely with the beef when used in moderation.

The toppings, however, are where the burger becomes divisive. Shiitake mushroom compote and Asian slaw give this burger a unique, elevated twist. Still, if you’re craving a classic cheeseburger experience, this isn’t it. Overall, the burger was good, but not the knockout it once was. However, our group agreed it didn’t taste quite as flavorful as in past visits. While the portion size was solid, it just barely felt worth the $25 price tag compared to other Walt Disney World burgers.
How Does It Compare to Other Disney World Burgers?

Here’s the truth: the Kobe Beef Burger at Yak & Yeti Restaurant is still a good burger. Still, is it still one of the best? Not anymore. Other standouts across Walt Disney World easily outshine it, including:
- Tiffins Signature Burger (Animal Kingdom)
- Wayfinder Burger (Wailulu Bar & Grill)
- Bison Burger (Geyser Point)
- Art Burger (Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’)
- Stack Burger (Steakhouse 71)
Frankly, we could name even more that rank higher now. The Kobe Beef Burger has slipped from “legendary must-try” to “solid but skippable.”
Final Verdict: Worth Trying Once at Yak & Yeti Restaurant

So, should you still order the Kobe Beef Burger at Yak & Yeti Restaurant? If you’re a burger connoisseur looking to taste one of Disney’s more creative burger options, yes—it’s worth trying at least once. The Asian-inspired toppings make it a unique twist you won’t find elsewhere at Walt Disney World. However, Yak & Yeti Restaurant also offers a Korean Kimchi Burger, which we have tried, that qualifies as more non-traditional.
By the way, we will try it again before a formal review. Still, the Korean Kimchi Burger is not high on our list either.
Still, if you’re looking for the best burger on Disney property, the Kobe Beef Burger at Yak & Yeti Restaurant isn’t it anymore. With so many superior options now available, Yak & Yeti’s Kobe Beef Burger feels more like a relic of its former glory.
That said, the restaurant itself is absolutely worth a visit. Between its immersive theming, eclectic menu, and generous portions, Yak & Yeti Restaurant continues to shine as one of the top dining spots in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Consider skipping the Kobe Beef Burger and trying something more adventurous.
