See what’s coming to Howl-O-Scream Tampa 2025 with scare zone updates, Tree Lot Massacre’s return, and Sawgrass Slaughter construction photos.

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay is preparing to unleash the terror once again for Howl-O-Scream Tampa 2025, running select nights from September 5 through November 2. The fog machines are primed, the chainsaws are revving, and scare actors are sharpening their claws—this year’s scare zone lineup is already shaping up to be a scream. From returning fan favorites to eerie new builds in progress, here’s a look at the confirmed and suspected scare zones haunting the park this year.
Sawgrass Slaughter: Legend of the Skunk Ape

A swampy nightmare that feels straight out of Florida folklore, Sawgrass Slaughter drops guests deep into the Everglades, where the elusive Skunk Ape prowls among cypress knees and murky waters. The air smells damp and earthy—until something far more sinister approaches from the shadows.

Construction is already underway for this fan-favorite zone, and early photos show towering swamp set pieces and rustic shacks taking shape. It’s a creepy, immersive setting that promises plenty of jump scares. During a recent visit, we saw some of the props out for guests to see..

Tree Lot Massacre – Looks Like Making a Return for 2025

Based on recent construction sightings, the grisly Tree Lot Massacre will return for Howl-O-Scream Tampa 2025. In fairness, calling it a construction site is not accurate. However, several of the Christmas trees have been moved into place for the scare zone to unleash horror again for Howl-O-Scream Tampa 2025. At the time of writing, we do not have an official announcement from Busch Gardens Tampa Bat about this scare zone returning. However, with Summer Scream happening this weekend, the cat will be out of the bag with so many spooky fans at the theme park.

Set at the once-jolly Evergreen Acres Christmas Tree Farm, the story turns macabre when disgruntled farmhand Silas Evergreen takes revenge one Christmas Eve, leaving behind a massacre that still haunts the grounds. Visitors will navigate rows of shadowy evergreens, broken ornaments crunching underfoot, as ghostly carols fill the air. It’s an unforgettable mix of holiday cheer and yuletide horror—just try not to get caught by Silas.
